Or marc save the engine during qualifying especially as noone can realistically challenge them and turn it up a bit during the race. The merc engine is the best on the grid and not because of party mode Im guessing Leclerc 13th?
I have bad news for you, the new rules require all the teams to run the same engine settings in qualifying and the race. So what Mercedes did today, they can do tomorrow. It seems unlikely that fuel consumption will bite them tomorrow because hasn't bitten them yet. Even if it does they'll just make the drivers lift and coast a bit at the ends of the straights.
Formula 1 has always been like this, A team dominant maybe another team stealing a race win here or there. People are laughing at redbull because they asked for this and its made it worse for them.
Indeed, pull enough of a gap to have a pitstop in hand, then lift and coast to the end to preserve engine durability with another unassailable win for Lewis will be Plan A for tomorrow.
I have a deep dislike for Ferrari because of the way things tend to be steered towards them and now my feelings are going the same way for red bull. Horner makes me cringe.
They've red flagged it. And HAM might have a 10s stop/go for the pitlane snafu. Tweet— Twitter API (@user) date EDIT: and a 10s stop/go for HAM Tweet— Twitter API (@user) date
so ferrari have made this race interesting... just not though on track pace ...and possibly a penatly for NOR for driving 'unnecessarily slowly' in the pits Tweet— Twitter API (@user) date
