So, I'm in Tesco and I spot Pineapple Jaffa Cakes. I'm already thinking " they are gunna be sh!te but, hey-ho, let's do it for science". I like. I ate five BTW, five is half a box now - frikkin tightwads.
We have the standard and strawberry here, I like them both. Must give the pineapple ones a go. Tried a Salted caramel fudge kit kat just now and thought that was thoroughly lovely, might not be a new thing but first time I have had one.
The drone guys on Greyarro.ws picked up on them a couple of weeks ago and were knocking themselves out with pineapple sugar rushes! If I went to LAN night any more I'd grab some instantly, it's real name is 'Biscuit Night'... @Vault-Tec had the misfortune to come along when he was staying locally, and found it was loud, and stuffed with in jokes and all those carbs that you shouldn't be eating regularly - i.e. the best sort!
The blackcurrant ones are rank. Which is bizarre, as most blackcurrant stuff is awesome, and normal Jaffa Cakes are awesome.
As soon as this BS is over mate I will be straight over. For now I will just hop in and say hello from time to time and sometimes die playing the games. But yeah, my heart is starting to yearn for getting back down there. There's just something about that place that soothes my soul ,and I am missing my fix
I don't like the fake ones. The chocolate is too hard and bitter /moans. Oh and they are usually too dry.
See, thats where the mini ones are wild. Not dry at all, a far batter cake and chocolate ratio, nom nom nom. The co op ones are fantastic, although trhe sainsbury's one are good too. Way better than this full size rubbish! Why would I waste my time on cake without jelly???
Oh yeah, it's all about the jelly tbh. For some reason I am now craving Farley's Rusks in warm milk LOL.
Imagine just hole punching the middle of a jaffacake, thats a mini one. Waaaay better! That seems really odd to crave, I can't even remember what they're like!
Would be good to see you at Gary’s, it’s going to be a while... My brother in law was a McVities graduate management trainee an saw the Jaffa cake factory. A lot of the same recipe Jaffas went into many different boxes... It was more economical not to do product differentiation. For the record I like Sondey JCs from Lidl as they are less dry and the jelly comes out to the edge. M&S rectangular ones are similar but no better on taste and not such good value
You'll have to set me on fire too, I think Jaffa Cakes are poor compared to how they used to be and too sweet. Don't eat them any more.
