This was the first computer I ever had, I'd love to get my hands on one now. Emulators just aren't the same!

They are defo not, I had a good deep dive with those when I got my new phone a few months back, bought a wee controller addon thing to make the phone look like a switch, good for the likes of pokemon and stuff, android emulation has come a long long way.

But the ones that would require a keyboard and mouse...... just not easy to do.

Plus that fuzzy electric noise when I turn on the thing is beautiful

Leaving tomorrow for a short trip to the Netherlands. First holiday since Scotland in March 2020. Just five days, but it'll be glorious.

Sofa arrived on Saturday (Uber comfy) and new TV about 5 minutes ago (Uber big!)

    I'm ready for Wednesday.

Oh! and I won a couple of really decent lots from last Thursdays auction which I pick up later on... should make reasonable money from them!

Just cracked open tonight's recipe box and there was a packing error: double monkfish.

And it should go without saying that double monkfish is far and away my favourite type of monkfish.

The whole trip to the Netherlands with my wife. Just so relaxing and fun. Shame we'll leave tomorrow, but oh so worth it.

Oo, nice. My wife is from The Netherlands (near Groningen) so before she moved over just before our wedding I had traveled over most of the northern half visiting her and travelling around with her whilst I was over there. Lovely place and we do need to get back over at some point.

I've seen a fair chunk of the Amsterdam area, and that was just in the 20 minutes it took for my flight to taxi from runway 18R to the terminal at Schipol! :p

Started talking with two dominant ladies on monday, agreed to meet one on saturday after my laser session. Being poly is fun, being a switch is funnier

    New server was delivered today.
I racked it, installed ESXi, pointed it at the storage, registered the VMs, and everything just... works?

No drama at all, which I guess is what's supposed to happen, but I'm still a bit like "wait, that's it?"

I decided to make a game months ago, and after revising it and scaling it back and doing a horrible amount of documentation I discovered that the engineering CAD software I use can be used to make the models! And I love doing 3D CAD, so for the last few montths its what I've been doing and its been utterly joyous! Currently completed 64 out of 245 models needed (the list keeps creeping up so I'm sure it'll continue to grow), so it has been a simple pleasure to do it for a few hours each evening! I'm sure I'll be cursing myself when I get to the stage of textures and coding, but for now its a lot of fun!

47 years old and I just laced my second BMX wheel. The first one was 30 years ago, and I managed to make a perfect egg, destroying the rim in the process. Thus I was a little bit apprehensive.

Three cross. Few squeaky bum moments, but patience and relaxing helped. I even gave it a smile before I put the spokes in !

The other day I decided to splash on one part, as I often do when restoring a bike. Like, that one killer part. This time I snagged some handlebars at 50% off, or £45 (yes, they really did cost £90 !)

Now the photo of them online was blurry. So I really had no idea exactly how they looked. Sounds mad, but Volume and their sister company Demolition are top shelf. Look at this.

    :O

That is the paint for the frame.

Yes it is !. It's much more satisfying than having to take a train ride and pay £55 !.

But no, jokes aside yeah, once I was in the zone I found it really quite relaxing. The first one? well I thought you had to do up all of the spokes all of the way... It didn't end well !

I think the worst part of it is trying to work out what length spokes you need. That part is quite the bugger !
