I don't get it. Are east coast Americans predisposed to watching something else on Thanksgiving at 10pm?
That makes a degree of sense to me, the race would start about an hour after the American Football finishes. On the other hand, it's Thanksgiving Sunday at 10pm, everyone's going to be pissed, exhausted and have work in the morning.
It's not the Sunday, it's the Saturday. [there was a mistake in the tweet i shared] So it's slated to start at 7pm local time [10pm us easter, 3am sunday morning in the uk] on the Saturday of thanksgiving weekend. It just seems like a really odd scheduling decision. Both in terms of drumming up local interest, and in terms of travel to/from the event.
Ok that's just bizarre. When was the last time a GP was held on a Saturday? There must have been one.
Saturday. 3-4AM time for Europe. That is not going to happen, even Japan or Australia races are at 7AM CEST. Plus isn't that date & time slot like literally graveyard time slot for anything but NFL on American TV ? I have some serious doubts.
I'm not sure that Liberty are bothered about us "legacy fans" over here any more! Similar situation in the football/soccer - no concern for maintaining what they already have built, always chasing the next bit of growth
I remember the days of the Japanese GP on at silly O'clock waking up to catch the last 10mins of it then watching the rerun again at the normal time. With Channel 4 only showing highlights these days avoiding the result isn't a big deal and hopefully won't have to wait for a stupid hour for the highlights to be shown Honestly sounds like they had a slot and it fell on a less than ideal weekend. Made a few decisions so it might at least fit in the local market. Either that or it is an experiment based on feedback from other events about timing.
No, Steiner Didn’t Say He Wanted To F**k All The F1 Paddock For Points – WTF1 Pretty sure he did say the F word but nice save and pretty funny too
So it is 10PM Vegas time, which should be 7AM central european time ? So yep, just like Australia or Japan.
Just have it usable over the entire lap at that point... make detection point the start/finish or safety car line...
I think that could be quite good. The 2 drs zones in a row will help get or cement an overtake, bit of a twisty bit for driving skill to set in then another drs zone for either your next victim or the driver that you just overtook gets a chance to fight back. Only 1 detection for each double drs stops the to me-to you we saw in the first race.
Verstappen 2 DNFs out of 3... currently behind Hamilton and his 4-wheeled lemon in the drivers' standings... lol so much lol
Verstappen seems to be having Kar[ma] trouble Sainz seems to be a bit behind Leclerc and seems to be panicking trying to make things happen. Incredibly silly mistake from him today Vettel....... Some things never change. Albon had a great race. Managed a point to top it off. Interesting the Merc teams seemed to be back on it, kinda where I expected after the first day of testing.
Yes, currently placed sixth out of the top three teams' drivers. That must sting a bit. Could be an entertaining season, if laughing boy maintains his DNF average.
