On a motorsport related note - I've attended the 6hr of Silverstone WEC event a couple of times, not least because it's significant cheaper than F1, and was gutted to find out it's not back this year with the new Hypercars.

I was planning to go to the F1 at silverstone as the house is now nearby but the cost was ridiculous. So I'm going to the MotoGP instead.

Do the classic at Silverstone in August, so much to see and do for under a ton! I'll be there again this year if anyone wants to see my hideous face :hehe:

Was the red flag man employed on a pay per use basis?

The 2nd one I can understand as a way to avoid a Safety Car finish but the 3rd one was extremely baffling to me....

There was absolutely zero purpose to the 3rd Red Flag, anyone who made it past the site of the accident would have crossed the finish line anyway before coming back to the site of the accident... so they could have trivially cleared that mess up after the race.

It was only a minor mess from the Haas so could of been cleared under safety car. Looks like they've got instructions to avoid finishing under SC and this mess occurred

Liberty media wants their show and they always have to make sure the driver 'wins' on track.

That second restart should never have happened, the old 75% rule existed precisely because a grid full of wound up racing drivers with 1 lap to prove a point is a terrible idea.

    I disagree. It's a fantastic idea. I love carnage.

They can still win on track behind the safety car.

Simple solution is to either not count laps behind the safety car as part of the the race or continue to count them until the last 5/10/10% to ensure they have some race left. Can see it causing complete havoc with fuel calculations but hey, part of the drama I guess

Crazy isn't it. I'm going to the LM24 this year for the same cost as it would be to do Silverstone in the cheap seats.

Yep about sums it up. Commentary focused on rubber on the wall at turn 15 cause so little happening on track

So many teams talking about development later in the season or what they'll change next year or 2026 rules. Did I miss it or was there anything new development wise from any of the teams worth discussing?

Edit: Ok pit lane incident :duh:

McLaren had a fairly big update, seem to have got their ass into gear, 5th fastest at this track, bit will take a couple to see where it's really at. I think it's Miami next which was a pita to overtake on if I remember correctly. Lot of people probably waiting for imola so it's easier for parts shipping

What did you expect? A fight for 1st between Sergio and Max? That couldn't happen as Max was distracted as he was writing a novel about how Russell did everything wrong in the sprint:lol:

Zero days zero hours since the Ferraris made themselves look bad...

At this rate the Red Bulls gonna walk it home like the Mercs did at the start of the hybrid era.

Ferrari again seem utterly determined to finish 3rd in a 2 horse race, just like last year

Fingers crossed for something at least resembling entertainment tomorrow. Not confident though...
