DragonHead Case

Great update, another one to be precise.... And i have to say that his mod looks god dam awesome, the scaly skin has texture and ridges look defined and the reflection in the tongue looks like there is spit and saliva on it and its reflects in the light.
The lacquered surface of the skin and on the nose gives it a great finish, do you have a background in art and fine art?

 

my background is im a chef and bartender but i usually paint oil pantings but guess that dont count

ok first a couple of pics of when the clearcoat dried and yes its still that wet glossy look..







ok i have never tried to make an eye and especially not a dragon eye..
how do you get putty that i will use to get the deep eye look?
well this is my try ..

making a cream spritser for the putty..

filling the both sides where the eyes should be


adn now its time to makem nice and clean with some sandpaper..


a bit better but something is missing..


making a "flesh piece" around the eyes.


and painting time.. and how does a dragon eye look?
startng with brushing a white layer that i will rub allmost 90% of out when dried ..


ok now im airbrushing and cant handle camera at the same time so this is the result at the end of the eye ..
the eye looks like its not round and looks like its bumps in it at the pics but that is within the eyes not on the outside .. should be seen live ..

Well thats a nice looking eye... Should look nice if u put some red in it... U know red for evil...

 

now all you need to do is combine it with WilletFX's anamatronic head project

well i will try remake the eyes "red" the problem is i dunno how it will look tho ..

 

i think they look fine.. I mean.. what eye of any animal is actually red? Perhaps a bit more red around the edges.. but nothing more than that.

 

red... maybe the correct colour is copper instead red.

 

well if its suppose to be correct there shouldnt be a dragon at all .. and the eyes should be like mankind if its not an nightanimal ..

 

So far as i know dragons not exists! The fantasy in the books I read often describes dragons as evil (few are nice) so red eyes are fitting! Dragons = fantasy red eyes = fantasy....or albino, but your dragon is not albino.

 

ok as i said before i never tried to make an eye but i think i did a good job with the first one .. the problem is i wanted it too look more evil and i dunno if i ruined it or if it still looks ok ..

Well, i say: do you like it Gotall?? If the old eye liked you, go for it.
Red eyes... I've never seen a lizard with red eyes, a cat neither... only lab rats has red eyes hehehe

 

well the first eye looked like e dead fisheye.. maybe red wasnt better or maybe it was .. i really dont know .. not that hard to remake again but i dont know because i wanted something that breaks the tone of the skin..
regarding the lizard thing .. only night creatures got "cat" eyes that expands in darkness and most lizards got eyes like humans.. but red as someone said is kinda evil and the cateye thing i think is cool on a dragon its a "fantasy creature" and combined it looks ok i think .. surely it could be better but i have no idea what im doing so i have to try my way thru it
