    I don't really know what the deal is with the $99 developer program, but the SDK itself is free. I'm hoping that tonight I'll have at least enough time to put together a classic Hello, World! app, then I'm thinking I'll strive to put together the epitome of useless and make a half-decent Twitter app. Maybe something useful from there.

    The $99 is the cost to publish your Apps in the App Store if im not wrong. The SDK is free as Firehed says.

    nice, about time they alliow 3rd party apps.

    now they just need to drop the price to be the same as the competition...

    I'm keeping my HTC Touch with PointUI and a T9 input pad. Works like I want it to.
