What could I expect from a Quad Core i7 2.4Ghz on bigadv?

First of all overclocking is out as its a server so the warranty will be void.
And the reason I can run it 100% load is the hardware is under warranty.

Also dose RAM make a diffrence to it?

I believe you need an overclock of at least 2.8Ghz on an i7 to complete bigadv units on time although I could be wrong. SMP units should still bring in a fair amount of point though.

Its not 2.8Ghz, its 3.8Ghz with hyperthreading at the bare minimum. Any GPU folding and you will need even faster.

Is it just one 4 core processor with hyperthreading we are talking about ?

If it is make sure hyperthreading is enabled and run just one instance of SMP. When you are happy with everything you could include the -bigadv flag to boost your points.
