should've had a best ATI card as not everyone wants to use Nvidia.

Superleggera means super light - 1.2 kg is NOT light!

I remember reading about some manufacturer called AMD, but apparently they made absolutely nothing worth knowing the entire year?

    ::rolleyes

Yeah, how dows this work? No AMD stuff?
I presume buying a 6 core processor (which in multithreaded apps trumps most quad core i7s) for 180$ isn't such a good thing? And there are definitely some great AMD boards out there on the 890FX, 890GX and even 870 chipset.
And the HD6850 isn't in the top either? Even though it offers GTX460 performance for 20 less W in load?

Yeah I was a bit shocked when I saw nothing at all from AMD, I thought at least the hexacore Phenom would make it, guess not :/

But then again, I wouldn't like them to go over and go "Oh noes nothing from AMD" and slap something red in there, although I think some stuff was overlooked. Does this represent the mentality of the BT staff? Or is it a win for Intel and NVidia's marketing? Or was there simply nothing from the red team that was memorable enough for it to be brought up?

Maybe Intel and NVidia did excite the industry more than AMD/ATi, but I personally was more impressed with what AMD have been doing.

Holy crap look at the "RAWR!" for no AMD. Granted I did raise my eyebrow aswell gents...

I would have you all executed for treason if I was Emperor of the Galaxy, sitting upon my golden throne (toilet)...

However, 5xxx series and the six-core wonders should be mentioned sometime ;)

Being a roundup of the best hardware from this year, in what area did AMD beat either intel or nvidia then? Cant really think of any.. some good products but not leading in any areas

5xxx Series was released 2009 guys, so didn't qualify.
The AMD 6-core CPU was close, but as we found in our original review,
We're unbiased in all our content - hell, we recommended the HD 5870 1GB for most of the year, and dumped all over the GTX 480, 470 and 465. It's just when new releases come, the red team hasn't really impressed this year.

Good article. I'd love a water chiller but I just know it would lead to me rocking in a corner as my computer smoked and sizzled.

Not sure about the AMD stuff coming out in 2009 meaning it doesn't qualify as other products in the list were released in 2009 but dominated in 2010. However, it is clear that as it stands now nVidia is in the leading position. This is a review of 2010 after all, not hardware that was good for a while but has now been superseded.

I'm still holding out for the battle of the dual chip cards, hopefully early next year.

perhaps the AMD guys would like to recommend what should have been there from this year?

the failure of the 6 core is explained (overclocked 760>hexacore in almost all cases), the reason why the 58 series (great cards) also explained.... the 68 and 69 didn't honestly shake things up etc....

    perhaps the 6950 xfire improvements?

    what else is there?
