Did you get past the 'You know, I have often been asked “What’s the history behind your nick?” ' bit?

Meh. I just got 7. I have no clue why that took me so long to work out...

Now onto 9, 8 was blatantly obvious.

Ah Fiver, you have started the process.

To everyone on page 12 -- Good luck. Goons around the world are trying to figure it out, to very little luck. I managed, through an EXTREMELY long and grueling process, to extract a paragraph out of that code. It involved opening the code as a hex in Photoshop, reading only the middle 2 bits of each section (the green channel), exporting as .RAW, letter shifting, and came out with this text file. I'm trying the red and blue channels now, but not to much luck.

I've given up tbh, but I don't think he'd put that rubbish in for no reason - the 2nd half won't be solved the same way as the first was, imo the answer has gotta be in that text somewhere, maybe with a different approach to the original code.. I was thinking rotations of the words that appear more than once but I cba any more.

Indeed. I've started a paired disparity sequence, different algorithms and such, to try to break this thing, but I'm getting less and less hopeful as I move along. I still hold strong to the fact that the next and final steps are within that paragraph, though.

I'm starting to believe it has something to do with the word random. Theres possible another two "lots" of information contained within that code thats not yet been extraced, and some selective processing might just reveal the answer.

Of course, I could just be way off, and somebody may of course already have tried it. ADUNO WHERE BE YOU!!1

Grrr... I'm still stuck on 6, I know that the sequence is Mersenne Prime but I just don't get it.... :waah:

Aduno, I also got that using javascript and Excel!

I tried making it into an image, and got the following information:

    Red: Mean: 126.70 Standard Deviation:75.54 Median:127
    Green: Mean:95.36 Standard Deviation: 29.13 Median:104
Blue: Mean: 128.25 Standard Deviation: 74.13 Median: 131

The red and blue look pretty randomly distributed to me. I tried plotting red against blue in Excel, and got this which doesn't look very useful tbh.

I've been playing with the sentences, two of them have square total characters (ignoring punctuation).

    Scuse the caps.

    OVERTHATS
    TATEMENTF
    ORASECOND
    YOUMAYHAV

Adnuo has also pulled the hexcodes themselves together and created an image, but we dont know what it is.

They don't show anything. I've done it too: even if you do it with the HEX completely backwards, or individually reversed, it still shows nothing with meaning.

Also tried this... wondered if any sort of plotting of the hex values on a Photoshop/PSP/standard gradient would yield any letters/images. Didn't seem to. Also tried mapping the colours into a table to see if there's anything... nothing.

    All shall be revealed ;)

    Here you are.

    That's the blue channel greyscale

    That's the red channel greyscale.

Alone, they're both rather random. However, subtract the blue channel bits from the red channel, and you get this:
which has an obvious pattern. So far, I can't get any text out of it though. XOR, bitshifting, translating, reversing, I can't get a thing. Here's just the hex translated into an image. Mind you, without any image proportions, I just made it into a box :/
    [IMG]

After messing with it a bit, I got this:
which, to me, kind've looks like a double helix, like DNA. After all the cryptic junk in the green channel text about life, not having one, etc. etc., it may hold some truth.

Then again, I may just be off my rocker and reading into it because I want something to come out of it :/. Continuing with different shifts of paired disparity as of now :wallbash:

    Another pattern if you split cmyk;

    magenta with reps. highlighted:

    cmyk all show a pattern..

Someone else said something about CMYK over on the SA forums, I just hadn't bothered with it yet. I thought the idea of it holding a huge paragraph in RGB and CMYK was way too much to ask for. May be something worth looking into now though :naughty:

    Hey, Aduno,

Have you got a link to the SA thread? I can't find it as the site doesn't appear to have a search :(

    Thanks,
