You can get a Dell Core Duo with 1Gb of RAM, 60Gb HD and ATI X1400 for £796. Thats about the best I can find.

The Pegasus sounds like a good deal...to be able to run newer games at native res and any sort of detail levels at a respectable frame rate, you'll need at least an X1600/7600. The 7600 in the Rock should do a decent enough job, but a GT would be perfect...will see what I can find.

Actually I cant really find anything better...

Oh yea because those intergrated ones can be a bitch :hehe:

Seriously though, have you considered the Acer Aspire 5602? on shoplaptop.co.uk it's got a 120GB hard drive and 1GB of ram, and it's dual core, for £679.

Looks good, but it's only got a X1300 ATi card, which compared to a 7600 would be seriously lacking.

Pegasus seems the one to go for so far.

Found another of similar ilk on ebuyer:

Toshiba with a NVidia 7600, 17" screen (1440x900), Core Duo, free upgrade to 1GB Ram, 60GB hdd.. £799.99 delivery'll probably be about a tenner.

See what's available on your budget from the likes of Laptops Direct +/or Laptop Shop?
They both have a pretty good range of notebooks - from a wide range of respected manufacturers (Acer, Asus, Sony, Toshiba etc) - at prices to suit all budgets :thumb:

You should also consider an HP Pavilion. I've got a Pavilion ZD8228EA, and I honestly can't rate it highly enough:cooldude:
It looks good... it's nippy... it's quiet, it's light... and it's comfortable

Dude, do you work for laptops direct? I can point out about 3 posts where you've highlighted and coloured their names. It just seems strange, I mean, you dont highlight or suggest anything else.

I can point out the very same number of links to the Laptop Shop as well Bindi! I don't think I've ever linked to one, without including the other in the same post?

And the simple reason I don't suggest other sites, is 'coz I don't know any!
If you know of any other [good] online laptop shops though... I'll be happy to include them as well, next time I'm advising someone where to look for laptops

    :D Just wanted to know!

It's just like a load of threads in here and it's always "laptop shop" in bold and coloured like you're jumpinig around (in my mind) like "student deals" or "this one here" makes a little blinking light turn on, on my "mod alert" panel. No stress, twas only a little question and a lot of poking in the side along with a naughty grin :naughty: You have 600+ posts, you're obviously not just here to pimp.

In hindsight I should have included smilies :):)
