We take a look at six of the best new modding projects, and you can vote for your favourites. http://www.bit-tech.net/modding/mod-of-the-month/2011/09/15/mod-of-the-month-august-2011/1
Sweet! I got nominated!!!! One minor correction though, the Cygnar Storm Strider is from a game called "Warmachine" by Privateer Press not "Beasts of War".
I love Warmachine's figurine design. It's a shame that it costs so much. Nice cases this month, as always
How the hell has Blue Horizon gone as far as it has and only just been nominated now? I thought it was in about 9 months ago!
We left it till now due to the type of build - until very recently, the project due to its complexity, hasn't been much more than a pile of bits (no fault of riekmaharg2). We try to wait till something has at least taken shape before featuring it in MOTM and riekmaharg2 was fine with this.
Cannot decide between Cygnar and Blue Horizon, both absolutely stunning projects. Best of luck to all.
Voted for these. Airbender by @nton is some classic highly creative modding if ever I've seen it. Blue Horizon by riekmaharg2 is Jam packed full of awesomeness, just about every single bit in this one is top notch stuff. Rough case by Tipchic is fantastic, making water blocks with really normal tools = wow that is proper modding screw the rules . When I vote for a mod I'm not just voting on how awesome a case is, I consider all the other elements that go into it also.
Again, it's just amazing how many great mods that are in here! I narrowed it down to 3 I voted for, but it was damn difficult! Congrats to all the nominees, and good luck to all!
OK, past MotM nominees: Is it normal to be addicted to your browser refresh button? Win or lose, I'm riveted by the vote progression.
Holy mackerel is Blue Horizon impressive. I also voted for Water and Wood. Great work from all you guys though.
The process in Cygnar Storm Strider build is metal casting and uses lost foam casting method. Metal forging is completely different process, in which you heat the part (in forge) and shape it.
