    indeed... but how else could you mass produce cars in the amount of time they do?

    about 3/4 of fords product line uses the same 3.1L V6 engine... from trucks, to suvs to cars

    Personally I want another Alfa Romeo, but as for the whole GM/Ford thing, Id rather GM. (Vauxhall in the uk come under GM) I'm looking at this from a british market, but I think Fords are a little cheaper looking than vauxhalls (which don't look to amazing!) but our business uses vauxhall vehicles and we had a ford before which was absolute rubbish... so go figure!

    I wouldn't worry about Pre Ford / Post Ford. They're all still hand built by craftsmen.

    And TBH, if it wasn't for Ford they're probably wouldn't be an Aston Martin. And we wouldn't have what's arguably the best car AM's made - the Vanquish.

    Something European please, BMWs, Alfas.....Mercs

    Or is Mercedes now part of Daimler Chrysler now so no longer count as Stuttgarts finest or properly European?

    I'd say VW as well, but after our two new Passats, I think not.

    Daimler Benz.

    Lambourghini or TVR...simply for their apparent lack of recognition for sanity when it comes to car design.

    hmmmm... I seem to remember Chrysler owning Lambo - I can't recall if they're currently owned by another company - I want to say they're owned by Audi now...

    Okay, here's a complete (last I knew) list of who owns what...

    DaimlerChrysler...
    * Mercedes-Benz
    * Smart
    * Sterling
    * Freightliner
    * Setra
    * Chrysler
    * Dodge
    * Jeep
    * Mopar

    General Motors...
    * Buick
    * Cadillac
    * Chevrolet
    * GMC
    * Hummer
    * Oldsmobile
    * Pontiac
    * Saab
    * Saturn
    * GM Fleet
    * Holden
    * Opel
    * Vauxhall
    * Fiat
    * Subaru/Fuji
    * Isuzu
    * Suzuki

    Ford...
    * Ford (duh)
    * Lincoln
    * Mercury
    * Mazda
    * Volvo
    * Jaguar
    * Land Rover
    * Aston Martin

    As far as Lambourghini goes, it is owned by Audi and Audi is owned by Volkswagon. So, technically, VW owns Lambourghini. Before Audi bought Lambourghini, it WAS owned by Chrysler for a time. In fact, the Viper was developed durring the time that Lambourghini was owned by Chrysler and the folks at Lambourghini helped develop the engine.

    Side note: Bugatti is owned by VW ;)

    Yep - hence the Veyron concepts et cetera...

    And the use of the W12 engine :)

    Anyone remember the Lambourghini Cala concept car? Very pretty - was developed during the Chrysler years.
