Does anyone know how to change your IP address on NTL Cable.
i know its a automatic thing, but i have Blackice on my PC and i have blocked the DHCP server so it cant connect to chage the IP.

    which has its advantages.

But is there a easy command so i can lose the information, i have even tried unplugging the modem over night. No luck, any advice.

Leave it off for 4 hours and the dhcp server should give you another IP. Either that or you can ring up NTL and get them to change it.

i have Telewest cable, i wanted to change my IP as my connection was being attacked (over 500 alerts in my firewall per minutes!!!). customer services told me to unplug ALL leads from my modem for 24 hours. after doing that, new IP, no brute force attacks :D
