US TV imports to the UK and Europe already run slightly faster thanks to the frame rate differences between NTSC and PAL...which is strange because it means that we all think that US TV stars speak at a slightly higher pitch than they really do

The normal gel packs that do electrolyte recovery are great but that... while i dont doubt it will be good and made to help, there is no way I want to taste pizza or salty potatoes during a game.

 

There's been loads of research into this.

The general feeling is that the current crop of gels are so sweet they get quite offputting.

I think that on a MTB/Road cycle trip I would rather have the occasional non-sweet offering.

I'm tempted to try the pizza one...

 

I will say that alot of them are quite sweet.

I personally use the SiS GO Isotonic every week during hockey games at halftime, And while they are a bit sweet they are by no means overly sweet to the point where i can't have it or enjoy it, the first bits a tad sweet but after that first taste i have 0 issues with it all

Might still try one of the pizza ones to see what its like if the price per box is similar to the current price per box of the SIS ones I use

 

I'm guessing the 'Pizza' one is simply tomato and basil rather than actually pizza flavoured.
The sweet potato and salt... the salt will [i'm guessing] help make would otherwise be an unpalatably sweet [for a lot of people] item easier to swallow...


That said those things invariably taste like crap regardless of 'flavour'...

 

in all honesty in a game when i use a gel pack im not paying attention to much im just making sure i get as much out as i can and thats it

What makes it worse is that you can get 'selfie sticks' to make those conceited, narcissistic shots easier.

 

Yeah, the selfie stick was the hot stocking filler of Christmas 2014, apparently. They think they're as cool as people using GoPro sticks whilst taking part in extreme action/sports activities. They're delusional.

 

People are using them wrong. Selfie sticks are not aids for taking selfies; they are for bashing selfie-takers over the head with.

Oh, I saw a bunch of people using selfie sticks in Dublin. At first I couldn't work out why people were taking their phones for a walk; then they made duck/prostate exam faces.
