A slightly more interesting card to look at when looking at what next after my GTX 970. I'll see how these actually land with consumers first but as I game at 2560x1080, it is a far more considerate on the wallet.

When my 970 dies (shh it might hear me) I think I'm going to be out of the pc gaming world for a while.

Nearly double the price of my 970 when I bought it, no thanks.

The Nvidia (and third party) pricing policy on the 20** series just further reinforces my decision to watercool my 1080Ti and crank it up some more; I appreciate all the elements of new tech but to pass that cost on to the consumer with there being little tangible benefit with current gen games and software - nah, nein, non, niet, nada thank you.

Man, am I the only person looking at the red splash on the cooler and going "that's a Radeon"?

20** series pricing policy seems well designed to help shift the 10** series.

    Seems like a trial run.

Currently £509.99 on overclockers .... Jesus. That said the Strix is on pre order for £678 ... how on earth can that be justified??

I don't want to jump on the RTX hate price band wagon but f***ing hell Nvidia ... get a grip.

And yet somehow that £509 is still £40 less than the founders edition on the nvidia website so it could theoretically even be considered "cheap":waah::waah::waah:

No such excuses for the Strix though... £678 is not just taking the yellow bodily fluid by normal standards, but also does so by Nvidia RTX standards.

Just looked on scan and it is £459.99. Think the EVGA Is the same price which would be ... ok ish. Still think it's too much for a 3rd tier mid range card. No matter how you look /define the new RTX series your still having you pants pulled down.

I will stick with the 1070 for the foreseeable future

Yep definitely too much for a midrange card, but it is just the unfortunate new reality and unless AMD catches up (or the promised Intel GPU materializes in 2020) we'll be stuck with whatever urine extraction Nvidia comes up with.

One thing I am noticing with all the 20 cards is they are all coming above the height of the PCI bracket meaning most won't fit in my case, not that I would be buying one at the current prices
