+1 to that... I'd love it if they switched Crofty from 5Live onto the tv and sent Legard to commentate on Nascar... his style is well suited to cars doing the same oval lap 8700 times per race.

Hoping to get to Bahrain, Silverstone, Spa and Abu Dhabi next season.

Sadly my prediction for the championship is:-

    1. Alonso
    2. Vettel
    3. Hamilton

Great that Legard is out but the name of Charlie Cox who does the BBC Motogp could be even worse.

Irritating old aussie ex touring car driver who uses the same phrases over and over again throughout a race never saying a word of any importance.

"That wasn't in the script" over and over and over again.

Awww, I quite like Charlie and Steve, they have a relaxed banter that draws you in, and they actually get excited when something happens. Unlike that dead fish, Guardian reader who probably decided F1 commentary was a sound career choice, rather than having genuine passion, Jonathan 'Head up his A**e' Leggard.:D

    Steve Parish's famous lines...

"These bikes have carbon discs, very different from your road bike"

"Big carbon discs, stop these bikes much faster than a road bike"

"Those big black discs you see, are carbon and are like using a parachute"

18 times each race, at every race.

Same in any technical motorsport - the number of times we hear Brundel going on and on about the different tyres, pit stop rules... Everything someone could pick up in a single previous race has to be re-iterated multiple times.

I just feel like we should be getting a super-technical commentary on the red button by Lord Ted Kravitz and Holly Samos.

Looks like DC is going to take over from Legard. Like you Krikkit, I would like more form Ted Kravitz next year but wont miss Holly "tell us in your own words" Samos.

Any bets on how many races before before Coulthard gets reprimanded for swearing on live T.V. before 9 P.M.?

    More changes for 2013? Maybe:

    http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/motorsport/formula_one/9307861.stm

All depends on if the TWG ratify them, and Charlie and the FIA approve. But hey! Ground Effect cars again!!! :)

    Virgin line up confirmed.

Glock stays, and will be partnered by Jerome D’Ambrosio.

i thought the whole point of a F1 car was to make the fastest possible car able to go round a race track with these rules it is going to be like watching F3 there will be no point in F1 if these rules go through

Don't think i will like the sounds of the new cars for some reason i've got in in my head that the low rev turbo four cylinders will sound crap. I want the 20000rpm V10s back.:miffed:

Though i relate with what bagman is saying i don't see the point of these eco-friendly stuff. F1 by it's nature can never be eco friendly you've got the pollution from the teams and spectators travelling to events must be way higher than the cars themselves will ever produce.

Fitting the Teams HGV's with KERS would do more good for the environment than the cars...

There was some statistic that 20 F1 cars in an entire season of racing produce less CO2 than a single transatlantic flight.

The sport has to be seen pushing green technology forwards though, the advances made in F1 will filter down to the road in the end

Rumour has it that DC will replace Legard next season  (DC's a bit boring but anyone, anyone beats Legard!)
