How old is REALLY old? The blog post looks like it was only about 4 weeks ago, and I definitely haven't seen it anywhere other than here... I guess it depends on what one needs to type into Google, but I couldn't find any reference to it on the usual big sites.

Haven't seen this before so it's not a waste of an article!

Cool idea, but I need the pci slots for more useful things, besides I'm sure there is a "warmer" which only needs one wire and plugs into the mains and costs less than all the hardware you require in the computer.

    Daft idea, but funny nonetheless!

as a general rule, i don't eat any meat product that comes in jazzy packaging. Even more so if its been cooked by some nutter with a lot of usb ports.

That project should win The "I was so bored that I built this" award. Strange, inpractical and useless. Funny nonetheless :))

    1) What a waste of resources! :wallbash: :sigh:

    2) Why not use 12V from the PSU? (Though there does seem to be a fascination with USB devices in some parts of the globe.)

Funny, but the most pointless use of USB ports ive ever seen.... Your have to buy all those pci usb interfaces, just so you can find a way to steal power out of the motherboard, and not even go streight to the the psu?

OK, so someone finally pointed me to some original expose on Gizmodo. Who would have thought that this would require the keywords "usb bbq" to find it! It's not a bloody BBQ is it?!?

    Sorry about that guys

That's awesome. Ramen noodles at a LAN would be swell to go with all the caffiene.

    I like it :)
