its not a handle. its a full langth pci card, or well the size is. that tab is on the end is slid into a holder oppsite of the pci slots so the card doesnt droop. So its supported on both ends

Damn it would be cool if you'd read the thread through before saying anything about the length...

I had, i'm just saying smaller cases wont be able to take it :)

After having a look around for release dates people have been linking back to an article and saying that march 19th looks like the date (or was it april, I can't remember atm) either way, i'm not sure how they arrived at that date because the refference article mentions nothing :(

I thought that my X1800 was long. I have to say that all of these 8800 / R600 cards are the opposite of where PC's should be going...

Why can't we have small, powerful and efficent cards? Please!

I can't even fit an 8800 GTX/GTS in my case how do they expect me to fit this in there? :duh:

I was hoping with half the memory the new 320mb GTS would be smaller but no go. :waah:

They don't resize/redesign the pcb to save on manufacturing costs unfortunately.

this is not ment for genral consumers this is a high effeciancy cooler for OEM's who design there own cases such as dells... the consumer one has a nice winey fan instead of a blower don't worry ;)

as for the power consumption... almost 3 of my shuttle servers in a single card... I would say it's crazy but there is still a need for that level of performance :D (don't care if it drains the national grid - if it's the most powerfull proccesor created).

Probably, but I *hope* it is. That's the most ridiculous card I've seen, and looks like it's close to matching that old gag photoshopping in length (can't remember for the life of me where I can find it, but if you've seen it you know what I mean).

TBH, it's pics like this that make me not at all regret having effectively given up PC gaming. Intel got the hint with the Core/Core 2 lines and not going insane with power consumption; you think the graphics card guys would get it (especially with the ATI/AMD merger).
