Hello, With the release of MGS4 i decided to get through MGS1 and MGS2 to get the grip of the storyline. The thing is MGS1 worked perfectly on my pc and i succesfully beat it. However, when i installed MGS2 and try to run it, im given a black screen with no sound!! Ive googled it and i am not the only one having this problem, i tried the v2.0 patch which i think is suppose to solve it but still no success. Pleaseeeee help me solve this as i really want to beat MGS2 substance so i can play mgs4 knowing the story. Thanks. PS: i do not have a ps2 so cant really play sons of liberty instead or play snake eater.. EDIT: im running Windows Vista and have a ATI X1300 graphics card and no sound card.
Never tried it on PC, so I suppose I can't help you... what sort of rig are you running? I saw it for PS2 for £4 at GAME the other day, so maybe you should try that instead...
sounds like a vista incompatibility to me I dualboot vista and xp. For really old games I run dosbox.
I know you said you don't have a PS2, but Substance is also on the original XBox if you have one or a 360. Sorry I think of anything to get it to work on the PC.
I dont think mgs2 works in vista, I tried it before on my vista rig and it didnt work - I think its only configured for XP. I would try it on an XP computer first and see if that helps!
Stupid question alert (Not intended to insult anyone): Have you tried to run it in compatibility mode?
