Obtained one of these to help control all my fans in my current build. Gives it a cleaner look so i don't need a fan controller, and it can be controlled using software.

But i'm a little confused, albeit a nooby question. Am i right in saying that for one of the fan pins, i'll need to attach a Y splitter where one end will go into the mobo fan port and the other to a fan, then the remaining fan ports for fans... so

Fan pin 1: Y Splitter for mobo and 1 fan
    Fan pin 2-8: remaining fans
    Molex: to power the board

    It's one of these

All of my fans are 4pin pwm connectors

I'd expect it to have a feed for a 4 pin PWM header if it could be controlled by PWM. I could be wrong but I think you need something like the Swiftech PWM splitter to be able to control and report RPMs for PWM fans (or pumps).
