FiOS (FTTH) is the best we can get around here, though I think they have a 50mbit package. Anyway, I'm happy with this!

BTW, this is supposed to be 20Mbit up/down.

OK, wtf? That looks a bit low doesn't it? I'm meant to be running 8MB "unlimited" Broadband... Could someone confirm if this is too slow?

And this is before they start throttling...

On the 10mb virgin package. Very happy when it was upgraded from 4 to 10 for free.

Speedtest won't even run for me. It just sticks at the checking ping.

    I tried another site: Download Speed: 121 kbps (15.1 KB/sec ) Upload Speed: 379 kbps (47.4 KB/sec )

    Paying for 8 meg :/

You'd better complain really loudly, ask for a few free months or something. That just sucks.

I'm slowly persuading my dad to let us switch from CPW/AOL, but he doesn't want to change his email address. But this is ridiculous. I've heard different things about whether people are being throttled, or whether it's a problem with everybody.
Everybody I know on AOL/CPW is having ridiculously slow speeds. I get the feeling it's cause they're messing around with Phorm or something.

Edit: Recommendations for a decent ISP? Preferably with no throttling/a high/unlimited download limit? O2 is looking attractive right now.

Some people with nice, juicy lines here.
I've got 12Mb bidirectional, but I'm not at home at the moment so I'm unable to speedtest it.
I do, however, routinely get 12Mb on torrents, and it is dead stable for most of the time. A couple of times a year the line goes down, but is usually up again after 10-20 minutes.

Okay, i'm seriously starting to wonder if theres something wrong with my connection... 10meg cable really shouldn't be capped at 200k upload should it?

Not seen higher than 200k upload in months...

OK then... why?! Why has my connection today been significantly slower than it has throughout the month? Is it part of some gay fair usage policy? :sigh: I presume they have only capped my download, as my upload remains as shocking as it were before...
