Where'd you get the 3M polish and glaze? I've been looking all over for that stuff.

    thanks guys :D

i hope to get some more parts painted today, we got a lan party coming up in 3 weeks so im gonna shift to a higher gear to get that project done (hopefully, theres still lots of work to be done on the interior)

D3DAiM: we use that polish at work so i didnt have to go far to find it. try looking at car painting workshops and ACE/home depot shops. maybe ebay if you dont find it

Yeah, I've been at Home Depot and ACE looking for it, they only stock crap. In fact, I couldn't find ANY glaze at teh stores. i suppose I will have to check ebay.

i polished the top panel today and assembled it completely, it will now be put aside till the final case reassembly

also i couldnt resist and i put the panels together to see what it will look like. of course theres still lots of work to be done on both the exterior and the interior but u can get the idea from the pic.

hey guys im back with more updates

i worked on the internal drive area cover today. cut the plexi to the shape and made a sliding door for the drives area. theres still some work to be done on polishing the edges and making a stopper for the door

    the general looks
    [IMG]

the slide door opened giving access to the drives area
    [IMG]

closeup on the sliding rail (dont worry those ugly edges will be polished)

a look from the inside on the lower rail
    [IMG]

a shot of the upper area
    [IMG]

front blowhole meshed (the FAN on the pic is just for mockup ill be using a led fan for the real thing)

closeup on the way i bolted the fan to the bezel. i used 7mm spacers between the fan and the mesh (you will see why later)

Your paintjob is just awesome! What needle do you use in your paintguns? and what percentage of attenuation do you have in your paint?

    Thanks for the comments everyone!

NysoO, the needle that comes with the small paintcun is 0.5mm im not quite sure about the big one.
at the airbrush we got 3 needles 0.1, 0.3 and 0.5mm

im not quite sure what you mean by "attenuation"

and now to the update. a relatively small one as i havent got too much done today but i should finish the cover on sunday

    assembled cover

Ok, nice, I have a 0,3 in my gun I think.. will use it for painting later.
Attenuation is the thing that you have in your 2-component paint. Not the hardener, and not the paint itself, but the last thing. Attenuation is the thing that you have to get a better consistance of the paint. Like, thinner.

NysoO: you could just say thinner :)
btw the paint is 1 component only and its attenuated (is that the word? :eyebrow: ) with thinner 1:1 means 50% paint and 50% thinner. the lacque is 2 component though

    elliod: thanks :)
