I have a friend who needs a PC, has trouble saving and can't really manage money. He needs a from scratch build for the minimum possible to be used for gaming (Borderlands 2, TF2 and others). I can't really provide a budget, but it needs to be as cheap as possible and still be "acceptable" for gaming. Any advice will be welcomed as I don't really know the budget market too well.
I'd go with a socket 1155 pentium, then you can upgrade easily. You can spend more on the gpu that way
No build advice as such. More just general help with the penny pinching. Once you figure out what you want, head over to the market place and put up a new wanted list. You may find a real bargain. I have a box full of cables, if you let me know what you will need i can let you have them for postage. Just PM me when you have more of an idea and we can sort something out.
