Does anyone have any idea how to get a Sony LCd monitor to be motorized so that it can be folded flat, then pulled in/out of a single drive bay?
Maybe a stepper motor and some nice mechanics? Maybe either something to push into the back of the lcd screen (and a hinge directly above said thing) so that as it goes out the screen would go flat. Either that, or maybe strings attached to the corners the screen, with a similar hing placement (like 1/4 of the way down or something), and then when the motor lets out the string, it would make it vertical, and when pulled back in it would make it horizontal. You could then have another motor to pull the whole assembly into the drive bay, or maybe with the second idea have some more mechanics to make the string pull it into the bay after it is flat.
Zachjowi, You can use this guide, which although is not motorised but gives a lot of info: http://casemodgod.com/Howto-story--35.html ARM
Just a little bit of info, im too working on something simmilare but have just found that the hinge need replacing/ modifying for the position i need.
I would like to use my Sony PS1 LCD monitor to have as a screen in one of the 5.25 drive bays. It needs to beable to come out of the bay then pivot up so that it will be infront of the two drives abouve it.
i don't think it would be any different than using a rectangular lcd. You would just need to make a mount for the display to sit on.
