First I was planning on the 3R System's "Poseidon" watercooling sys., but it's still some weeks untill released. Then I thought to myself that I would investigate the net to find out what this watercoolingbuiz is all about. I have been browsing the net for nearly 2 whole days now, but still I have a few questions.

I wanted a simple system for my warm AMD 1.33Ghz. At an american site they said that I didn't need a rad, I could use a big hollow copperplate, but is that true?
Also Im a bit confused about the block. Some sites claim that the maze is the most optimal, and others claim something else, but what works best for a very warm CPU?
Is a res a nesessaty? Can't you make a closed system only with a rad?

Don't you think that my small system can use the DD Maze 3 with out it breaking/leaking?

Lastly could I get an advise on a setup?
I was thinking of using the Eheim 1048 or maybe the Eheim 1005 pump. The rad could be a Neptune 'The Deep' Radiator.
Now comes the block, and this im not sure of... could I use an Koolance CPU-100 CPU Copper Cooler Kit or the DD2 or DD3 and should it be a 3/8 or a 1/2?

    Welcome ThureBusk the Dane :)

    1) What is the Poseidon?
    2) Have a look at these sites

For Technical Info and "The most logical set-up"
    http://www.procooling.com/articles/html/cooling_technologies_explained4.shtml#H2OCool
    http://www.procooling.com/articles/html/unaclockers_h2o_buyers_guide_-.shtml

    http://www.voidyourwarranty.net/review/review.php3?r1=h2oguide/index.php3

    Good Guide
    http://www.coolhardware.co.uk/modules.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&t=149

    3) Yes you do need a Rad. Thats what a big copper tube is I suppose, but why not get a radiator designed for this purpose + smaller and more efficient.

    4) An inline air-trap like this is a good idea (remove bubbles from system)

    5) If you go for a maze 3 I would get the copper topped one.
    6) Ehiem 1048 with 1/2"
    7) You could always buy a ready to roll system like the Koolance or the Swiftech but mor fun the "pick 'n' mix" way

I bought my setup for $107, with out piping. I really love it. Here's what it has:
Gemini Cool HP WB (Some say the best out there) from DTekCustoms - (http://dtekcustoms.com)
VIA Aqua 1300 Pump from BeCooling (http://becooling.safeshopper.com/index.htm?668)

If I were you, look around at everything before making a decision. And really look at DTek. They have some great stuff, and kits too!

    Thanx!:D *mat-ster* exelent guides!

    1) "Poseidon" is a Whatercooler kit, ready to roll from 3R systems.
Im sorry but I only have this Korean link to the "Poseidon"
http://www.3rsystem.co.kr/product/tuning/poseidon.htm so you can't really make much of it, but I think it will be fairly cheap and reliable.

2)I think it's hard for a newbie to see through what kind of rad you should buy to get the results you want. Fx I was looking at this rad http://becooling.safeshopper.com/17/48.htm?668 but will that be efficient enough with two fans on?
Could you recommend a fitting rad?

3)I have tryed to find the Maze 3 with coppertop, but have been unable to find it for an AMD setup, so I might just consider another block. In the second artikel there is a link to the UnaBlock. Do you think this is an ok block?
    http://becooling.safeshopper.com/6/117.htm?83

I got to think. On an AMD it is the little black square there needs the cooling, right?

    4) I like "The tube" too, and if you'r a DIY it's easy to make.

You could actually make a quit cheap kit with the rad and the unablock and the DIY Tube.

One last Q... How much water does a normal small system like mine need? I was thinking that if you have 1 liter of water and an ok rad, then the water would always be cold, but can you settle for less, like ½ Liter or somewhere between?

    Hello SiGMA ;)
I agree with SiGMA DTek Offer great kits..... Get the Polycarb topped blocks if you really want the show!

Try this link out for other suppliers.........
    http://forums.bit-tech.net/showthread.php?s=&threadid=9950

It may be a good idea to hav a look at some of the excellent German suppliers - the guy to ask about this would be Elemental

My German is non-existant so he could give you some pointers on this.

Thure the Dane could you help me out and tell me what this site is like ? http://www.crutam.nl/

    ;) Mat

Oh sorry Sigma, forgot to say hellow and thanks for the advise!

Well I can help you a bit with the page, if you want it partly translated. I dont speek dutch, but I can read some, 'cause it's kinda mix between german, dainish, english, flam and french. *schhhh* don't ever say that to a Dutch person, they don't like that :-D
Else I think it's kinda weird. They don't say how you can pay for the merchandise. That normaly stops me from buying if you can't use a secure server. Maybe you have to mail them and ask!?

Well you can order all their products by mail. I gues that it's this mail: crutam@wanadoo.nl , or you can call or fax your order to them.( dont forget the national code :) )
When theres a NV behind the product it means that theyr out of stock.
I take it that it's the Power Supply your interrested in? Well as far as I can understand, they will get the 300W on orders, it is not a stock product.

If theres more you'd like translated or commet on, please don't hesitate to ask (and point out) :p

Why do the make "polycrap"topped blocks if theys so bad and break?

How do I find and contact Elemental?

hehe Relix :D I only said it about dutch, not belgish (have a few belgi friends)
    Mat
I found this kit and thought it looked Ok, whataya say? I thought of adding "the tube" to the system to complete it.
    http://www.coolerkit.dk/product.asp?product=1&page=1

It uses the MAZE2 block... pure copper topping :D no "polycrap" and the Eheim 1048 pump.
I just don't understand why they don't have a resevoir for the setup...

    ThureBusk m8,

I'd definitely recommend the Tube res from OCPC - I've been really pleased with mine, so much infact Jess is making me a custom sized one to fit my case a little better then the 250mm one I'm using ATM.

I've had two Maze 2s (one 2-2 and one 2-1) both are still in great working condition and over a year old (I got one second hand!). Just lap all the top sides to 1500 grit smooth then polih with metal polish and coat with clear laquer and you'll have a luurvly shiny block that people will go 'WOW' at :D Mine are both finished like this and still have a great deep shine finish :)

The rad will be O.K. but don't expect it to perform as well as a high flow rad like the BIX or OCPC the Deep :) It will work tho' :)

Also, I'd consider changing to thick wlled silicon tubing as well, just as PVC ages and become brittle with some coolant additives (like WW) whereas silicon will last years and is cheap :D

Good luck with ya coolng :D
