Well first of all, i've been away some time from the modding due to studying, as for the LCD to control it you can use:
    http://www.lcdstudio.com/e107/news.php
or the original page that has a wiring diagram for KS0108 compatible LCD's
    http://skippari.net/lcd/ks0108.html

the LCD i have has some diferent pin-outs , butthe control pins are the same , if you need i can upload the fulll datasheet to my web space , s it need for th Led backlight a 20 Volt tension and a -20 volt tension for the contrast adjustment.

For the questions placed about the polarizing film , you have to unglue it from the LCD and then or siply put the glue side to the top , and if that does not work you may need to get a polarizer film , tha now will able you to ajust it to your needs.

    LCD wiring help

ok, i found some LCD's on E-Bay for $2 USD, bought ten of them, just cause i'm bored :)

Turns out the items weren't as listed though, they are " hamtronix HDM16216L-2-V3PT " that are backlit... the problem i'm having is i can't find any " howto's " on the internet for this model, but there is a wealth of information on thier website, but none of it makes sence to me because i don't know the first thing about electronic blueprints.. i was hoping someone could help me out by telling me what pin on a lpt cable goes to what hole on the board (there are 2 for power, and then 16 on the other end i'm assuming for data)

    the website address is http://hantronix.com

Thanx in advance if someone can help me with this

Hi, I got some of the same LCD's. I found if you use a -5v reg on pin 3 they work fine. It's just a negative voltage contrast LCD. I got 10 too.
    PIN1, Gnd
    2, +5V
    3, -5V
    4 RS...etc. standard LCD pinout.

    Graphic DG-12864-19

Hi, Got a couple of those yesterday, the joys of working with a computer recycler, free parts & stuff. They came off Canon computers. Small towers.
I couldn't find much else on the net though. Looks pretty standard for graphic LCD's though, I think.
    Shawn.

any chance you could perhaps show how you achieved negative voltage?!
    i manageed to snag a 240x128 T6963C and a 4x20 both white on blue lcs for 60USD shipped!lol.
but the graphic module requires negative voltage...how?!
    thanx

    Nope.

You remove the film, rotate it 90 degrees, and replace it.

    Hello guys,

First, sorry for my bad english, but it's not my native language ;)

I've removed the frame of my lcd (it's an 12864-19, same as the tutorial) for painting the frame. I don't want to invert the lcd screen ;)

After mouting the protective frame again (I've tight the metal clips has they were originaly in the LCD), my lcd had strange reaction :

There is some pixel line who are not actived and a "black fog" in the screen ... :(
The cause of that is the removing of the frame...arggg

How can I scan stop that ?

THX very much for the help you can give me !

    Nico

Probably the frame isn't secured as tight to the LCD as it should be. Try and push it on further, but gently trying not to break the LCD.

Ktulu, take away the frame, move the LCD a lil bit to the right or left, grip the LCD from the borders where the golden contacts are, and check if it starts showing everything as normal.
Once you got the LCD in the right position, put the frame back on, and make sure that the frame is pushing the LCD against the PCB.
If you leave the LCD loose, some lines will be dimmer or won't show up at all.
