That doesnt sound right. AFAIK XP's were mostly Socket A, and then replaced by semprons which you can get to Socket 754...unless you mean Athlon 64 maybe?

    Looks good though, nice cuts

thanks, and yeah, i meant 64. XP is force of habit.....used to seeing it on the archives on the old modding sites i research on...

yeah the cuts were doen with a 4" angle grinder, a dremel, a flat file, and a jeweller's file. the cutting took no time, its the filing that took ages to do. but in the end i'm happy with it.

EDIT: i cant believe they bleep ba*tard file..... changed it to flat

Athlon 64's were on s754 originally, they were renamed to Sempron when they removed the 940th pin off the 940 to make them to 939 (I know this since my CPU doesn't say Sempron anywhere on one system, but has Sempron on the other one, both are 754

sempron and athlon are totally different cores. the sempron was the economical amd processor and the athlon the standard model.. and socket 940 came after 939.....

    really? hmm.... anyways...

im happily overclocked now at 2528mhz from 1813mhz... whee go me... and my 7600 is running at 620mhz from 580mhz. things are running a tad more smoothly now. gonna see my results in the CS:S stress test.

meanwhile, some updated pics... i have since added handles to make lugging this thing around easier. and my new fan controller and temp/fan rpm display came in. bit of a hodged color scheme but what the heck.
