*the more you know... do do do doo* I change my vote to locking them up for life w/o a chance for parole. ...however death sentances might go a long way to helping stop people from commiting the crimes in the first place, which could actually save a lot more lifes.
I believe there have been many studies about the deterrent effect that the death penatly has on crime rates. If I'm not mistaken, most of the studies show that there is no empirical evidence to support the theory that the death penalty acts as a deterrent. Some studies even support the idea that violent crime (such as murder) can increase (albeit slightly), as the death penalty teaches us that it is ok to kill out of revenge. -monkey
what about the people that get the death penalty that are innosent? If I could choose I rather have the death penalty than living in jail my whole life getting rapped in the ass, beeing someones bitch no I choose the chair over that one. GreetZ Nick
