power light is not blue because it is a bi-colour (green/red) led. Changes red when barttteries are low.

I've just got one and I love it already.

It's interesting that the deciding factor for some people on buying the PSP or the original DS came down to the design. I could understand that if the systems were pretty much the same but they're not. I love Nintendo but as a media player the PSP is the hands down winner but as something FUN and INNOVATIVE, it's the DS all the way. Design is really of no consequence for me when choosing between the two.....oh well ramble over. :)

There's a lot of stuff on their under NDS. A lot of stuff is still in the early stages of development. There's email clients, an irc client, IM apps, organisers, media players, some home brew games, and a whole host of other shizzle.

You need a flash cart or media drive to be able to use them though.

A good guide can also be found on the Max Media player mini site:

    Excellent article.

I read this the day it was published and it made my mind up: I have resisted buying a handheld console for ages as I never thought I could justify the cost based on how much use it would get, but this article changed my mind and two days before going on holiday I went down the local high street to purchase one.

Well, as always, things didn't go to plan and I have just returned from holiday having really enjoyed playing a couple of Games on my new PSP!! The thing is, for the money, I really needed it to do something more than play games. The extra media functions of the PSP really do add that little bit extra, which the nintendo lacks.

I am sure for absolute game play, there are pro's and con's for each, but the extra functionality of the PSP really swung it for me on the day.

OK the PSP might be a little more expensive, but when it comes down to it I think the extra functionality is easily worth the few extra pounds (or dollars).

You can get a media player for the ds for about £13 + memory card I believe. Plus the web browser should be out soon.
