Obviously to counter Dells XPS systems...

Good for Voodoo though, pulls it away from the niche market.

Is the PC gamer market a growing one? Unless the companies know something we don't, the PC games and gamer market feels like it must be a dying one.

the pc gamer market to me also seems like it's dying. But mabey i'm just jaded and don't get excited anymore by "omgz gamer version with extra LEDS!!! at only double price!".

seems to be going through what the HI-FI market did... stagnent.

    That's really dissapointing news.

I hope they do come down in price but keep their edge. Since the Dell acquisition of Alienware I think the desktops are looking less edgey, and more plastic than I ever thought possible.

Good move for HP, I like to see some company try to stick it to dell....

Though it does seem that the gamer market is dying, but it may seem that way only for people who have been in it long enough to see the glamour. Maybe people who are just entering the gaming market have a long road ahead of them. However it may just be due to games lack of originality these days.

What's happening is that the higher end consumer market is bleeding into the gamer market.... Folks want power and performance (especially as entry prices and general consumer rices are so low) and are willing to pay more (in a relative sense).
