As mentioned in the link, friction hinges.

All good DIY, Hardware places should have them.

    EXAMPLE 1

    EXAMPLE 2

Although from the original project pics they appear to be the more basic style sliding/friction hinges you get in kitchens, from the over head cooker hood cupboards etc. Can also be called = 'Stays' or 'Braces'

Have look in the 'Projects Log' forum

have a Look at the 'Super hornet' thread.

Those friction hinges look almost identical to the ones in the original link you posted.

had a quick read but didn't see any mention of the place of purchase, but ask the author and see what he says.

Good News. I have been tlaking to Susadu, and we are going over some ideas for my pc case. I know its gonna be a,"Cobalt Blue Metallic, paint job. I thought about making a grim reeper theme. And put a fogger in it, so it will simulate a foggy night at the cemetery.

    Tell me what you think?

i don't know if cobalt blue goes with a grim reaper theme since that guy kinda reminds me of the color black instead. Also i'd be careful of a fogger machine in a case because the vapor could short stuff our maybe, but hey, go for it if you want.

Hate to bring this thread up again but we actually never did answer the question of what hinge was used to produce the scissor-style panel doors. Friction hinges are what he used for the front panel on the tribal mod case but if you notice, the side panels go out a bit then up, rather then flap out like on the superhornet so it is probably a self-designed or modified hinge mechanism. As for googling, I've looked all over the net as well as email hinge manufacturers without any luck so far. If someone can get me a design of the automotive hinge we can miniaturize it!

Oh and interesting worklog link by the same guy as the superhornet and tribal
