Used the G5 and really liked it, but i broke it (note, it doesn't stand up very well to being slammed into the desk after losing a BG in WoW...)

So i went and bought the MX Revolution and its not as twitchy for BF2142, but its really smooth and comfortable in WoW. The scroll wheel on it is works so well, going back to a friends G5 i missed the shape and scroll wheel straight away.

They need more thumb buttons on the G5 and G7, how can any civilized person live without two thumb buttons?

I read it but still think that the mx518 is the best balance for me, I am a palmer when it comes to my mouse useage.

I'm a lefty and it doesn't get much better then the G3 for me.. I've always liked the Logitech mice, I had a MX300 before the G3.. I've tried Razers, but couldn't get used to the different shape..

I still use an MX700 and have had no problems with it. My sensitivity is usually quite low, so maybe that's why I see absolutely no reason for a ridiculously high resolution mouse. Even if you do crank it up high, I bet a lot of it is all placebo.

In any case, the MX Revolution is the only mouse I'd like to buy right now, but I don't want to spend $80 on a mouse. Maybe $60.

Nice article shame about the mice!

I love my Copperhead but does anyone know if the new models are capable of being recognised by Windows without unplugging re-plugging every powerup?

Assuming you mean that the MX 5XX's have to be full palm mouses, I can say for sure that they do not. It seems to be a common perception, but I've been using one for years as a fingertip mouse, and a couple of other big fans of the mouse have been also. Maybe you need the right handshape, but it works for me.

Fingertip control is definately the thing to be aiming for for gaming imo. Different hand sizes are going to suit different mice, but regardless of which one you use, you want the fingers touching the side and top of the mouse to be moving it, not your palm resting on the mouses arse.

I wish they'd fix the way they show the Fatal1ty mouse - I think they've got it all wrong (see posts 21 & 28). Other than that - if you've tried several ways and found the one that works best for you then you're holding it the right way (for you)

firmware update (LINK) Although there is a newer version (LINK)

This is how a mouse review should look like! I've always said that microsoft and razer mice don't stand a chance compared to my beloved old optical MX mices. I wonder how MX510 would have ranked?

I'm really looking forward to reading his upcoming tests!
