If I had the workspace for mine I might be inclined to get that holder and foot pedal as well.. do they work well?

If you know you are about to start a carving job that will take longer, yes, you would like to have the holder for the tool. Takes a lot of weight off your hands making the control of the carving bit a lot easier. Combine this with the foot pedal and you are in carver's heaven. ;)

Neat! Makes me wonder if it would be possible and practical to make the tip pressure on the carving bit control the carving speed... Just like the pressure sensitivity on a Wacom tablet.

Theres a note in my Dremmel manual saying not to use them because they could damage the control circuitry.

That looks like it just restricts the power going to the dremel itself.
So I assume you set the dremel to full and feed more current to it the harder you press?

Good point there are those dremel's that are digital in nature, though I much prefer my slide select speed on my dremel. I could see how a digital dremel would not operate properly if you change the input voltage, but I cannot see how it could damage the circuit.

Then again they have these sorts of silly warnings on a lot of products simply because some idiot found a way to screw it up.
