    2nd concept I'm kicking around. It kind of annihilates the blackness of the case... I'm kind of partial to it. I just can't decide, I'm full of em tonight!

    Back on your first concepts, with the slashes that go from top down into the side, you should totally cut notches into the case, like it was actually torn open. Don't forget the nice evil red glow coming out, either.

    (And I really like the chaos marine with the flamethrower. All it needs are some spiky bits and blades...)

    I sort of want to combine the first and second concepts together. I like the flamethrower berzerkers but I want to make the firey sky fade out to the right and put the blood drinking crazy mutated guy in too, becuase I actually plan on modelling him, possibly on a diorama up top.

    On the front bezel, I want to take actual minis and bitz and make like faces coming out from around the dvd drive and stuff ^___^ kneadatite actually works pretty well and is rock solid, easier to sculpt than bondo too and cheap in bulk.

    I'd like to gash my case like that, but I'm a sucker for nasty sharp edges and i'd REALLY spill some BFTBG. Trust me.

    I kind of like my termie, but I think you're right the 'zerker is a little cooler.

    I really want to make an update but my ISP/photobucket is giving me crap. I can't upload anything. If anyone wants to host pics temporarily, let me know.

    ++UPDATE++
    June 28, 2007

    Started blocking in the shapes with a titanium white wash on a fine tipped brush:

    [IMG]

    Blocking in the skin tone colors. I used Cadmium Red, Yellow Ochre, Burnt Sienna, and Titanium White to create this tone. The red came out stronger than the yellow, his skin looks a little red... I'm not sur eif I want to remedy that or not. It looks sort of khornate.

    Starting to come together now...

    more tomorrow ;D

    ++UPDATE++

    It's coming along slowly, but surely. Painting with acrylics takes a rather stupid amount of time because they dry so damn quickly, but it's worth it. After laying down the concoction I came up with earlier, I put GW dwarf flesh and tanned flesh over it. It made for a nice red undertone to reflect blood under the skin, but it looks so much better.

    Mixing the paint for the wires and conduits:
    [IMG]

    Scorched brown mixed with bleached bone (GW line) for the teeth undercoat, and adding more bleached bone to build it up to a nasty teeth color. Man, Chaos needs a better dental plan. I also glazed the maw with watered down GW red ink to make it seem less pink and shiny. I suck at mixing tube colors =(
    [IMG]

    Here the teeth are done and I used black ink to define the edges of the teeth and bone. I don't paint like this in class, mind you. This is just a style I've adopted, my professors would jump out and kill me if they saw blacklining. Also, most of the conduits are done, I'm just finishing up the red wires now. The horns have yet to be added.

    That's all for now (three more hours of work o__o). I'll finish this another time, I have some WHFB figs to paint for someone.

    Over and out.
