i didnt look about how many watt will be necessary to turn on 2 pc's . now i have old motherboards , my plan is to replace it for new more few month after i will finish the mod .
i think 620 watts is very damm good for 8800gtx and dual core mean it's good for high-end gaming systems... so this mean 2 old computers this will be more than enoufgh for them.. also it will be good for new if you want peace of mind go with 1K enermac PSU and kick the hell out with that power and you can run every thing you want... heheh
i'm kinda interested in the pcb they seem to be splitting the power and controlling the 2 mobos with. could be potential "die for" part for a boinc farm.
ON the scond picture they have a small green pcb board they made a splice instead of wires they copper tracing since i was more neater that's why they were able to connect two computer they were showing this off causae it was a 1000 watt power supply and was capable of running 2 midrange computers let them try to connect 4 8800 GTS KO version (2 on each computer) if there capable of doing that then well i'll buy my self one and will prob hack it so i can use it on both computers
i found another problem .... when i turn them on its ok but if i want turn off only one - the second turn off too!!! how can i solve it?
i'm not sure if this is possible i'm at a work palce but when i get back home i'll check here out but here's my theory the green wire is the one that acts a a car ignition somehow if u able to setup a relay in which when u click on it he switch it shut's it down leaving one on. but then here's another problem both of the green wire is connected to the power supply so even if u able to shut one computer down using the green wire it send a signal to shut down the other computer similar to a shut down line if u can find a schematics on how to shut one green wire down without causing the other computer close that's my theory if u have any ohter idea i'm all ears i'm even planning to do one myself if anyone can find out let's help each other out
you need to use an NAND (i think off the top of my head) on the green wire, have it so that when both green wires on the mobos go NOT LOW, the output of the Gate goes NOT LOW: (the PSU on is active low)
WOOOOOOOOOOOOOT ENERMAX ........ no he can he said it ....... the green wire of each mobo put a switch on it when you tunr off you off the switch and the other still working ....... good luck
the critical problem is on parallel the current is split , so every motherboard receive only half current . for old motherboards is ok but for new its problem....
