Well, it may be MP only, but in RO if you shoot someone in the torso with a rifle they are going to go down and stay down.

I hate games that gimp weaponry simply to make it easier. If you're playing at war what's the point in totaly and completely altering the rules?

I didn't notice the re-spawn nazi's in this at all, I am assuming you are talking about the massive group at the mansion and how they keep coming?

    They don't actually re-spawn.

Last night I came from the downstairs and worked my way up into the building and it was absolutely full of them, so I did it again and counted, the amount of naz's I killed by coming up from the inside and thus not drawing them out to the front is exactly the same as going for a frontal assault. (I did read this thread first before actually bothering to count).

My main gripe is the damage settings are not high enough for when I got shot, 3 hits by an MG42 and I should be dead. It makes rambo runs far too easy, even on expert. And on the same theme, the germans shots aren't that good, even on expert, BUT then again it is against the lowest skilled AI so maybe that is why.

I think as you progress through the game it will get much more challenging.

I just look forward to the BAR and what upgrades it will have. I hope you run slower when you are carrying it though.

    Eitherway, I've preordered :)

I played it again last night. Was less impressed. The enemies definitely respawn - how do I know? I saw three of them do it in front of my eyes when I stormed into an AA gun position.

The way that the weapon upgrades are arbitrarily assigned is awful. I was hoping it would let you find scopes etc on existing weapons instead. And the way that ammo boxes announce themselves is a bit annoying.

    Unlimited pistol ammo too? Pfft.

That said, the game was fun and I'll be having a better look at the full thing later. It was enjoyable, but lacking polish.

Ah damn I haven't seen this, they have always run out from behind things (or other rooms) for me.

Personally I quite like the upgrade path they game employs, And from what I see, the more accurate you are, the faster you upgrade, the rifle grenade for the garand is pretty sweet ;)

I've sussed greased landings on the ground now, as well, hopefully the same applied for the roof. Will tried flared later.

Pistol ammo is STUPID, you can't carry unlimted ammo, so why include it?

That's another thing, I think you should run slower the more ammo you are carrying.

And again, has anyone found In game AA/AF controls? I can't find them anywhere and the out of game setup options don't mention them sepcifically either. If it is all turned up high (and that is all that I can do) then the graphics aren't as good as I was expecting.

I played the 360 version just now, I can see the game is pretty good and at least they're expanding the game a little more than just plain shooting, but it's really not very good on the 360, there are too many controls for the pad, and I don't think there's any autoaim at all. Firing from the hip is inaccurate, but it's very difficult to kill people when using iron sights as the analogue stick is inferior to the mouse by miles.

I also think it's a little too easy (by that I mean, too easy to rambo, I still found the game quite hard, but thats mainly because I was struggling with the controls) for my liking, I'd like to see a realism mode for those of us who don't like our Nazi's with power armour.

Veles, did you ever play allied assault on the old xbox? I couldn't get the hang of the controls on that for ages, but I mastered it in the end, it takes some seriou practice. I do agree with the iron sight aiming though, it is far too slow on the xbox, and it only reasonable on the pc with the sensitivity all the way up.

However, its a MoH game so will be fun to play never the less.

This is certainly a step up from the last titles.

Too bad it runs like crap for me.

Ran horribly on my system as well.
As soon as the motion blur kicked in it just crawled.

    core 2 quad q6600
4 gig of ram (limited to 3.2gig because of 32 bit vista)
uber beasty graphics card, which i have forgotten the name of.

Basically, it plays Bioshock at full settings no problem, it plays oblivion damn close to full and I had no trouble with lost planet. So i put the slowdown to bad code.

I did notice some jerking at one point, but I think it was a heat issue, i turned all my case fans off by mistake lol

Graphic controls are minimal though don't you think?

Hopefully that's just because it's a demo, but cross platform releases usually don't have a lot in the ways of graphics options anyway. Didn't play Allied Assault myself, last one I played was Frontlines on the PS2, I remember it being awarded a BAFTA for the opening level or something, it was very cool at the time, but unfortunately it went back to the one man army style straight away after that.

I managed to land on one of the special points, it was a church spire, got a messed up landing medal, landing on it was pretty funny, was definitely impressed.

I think this game is a buy for the PC, my specs aren't all that great anymore though, 7800GTX 256Mb, 3800+ X2, and 2gig of RAM, hopefully I'll be able to play it okish. I really want to do an upgrade to my PC but it's not really worth it, I hardly play PC games anymore, mainly stick to my 360 now, any PC gaming I do is mainly old school stuff like Deus Ex and Fallout I missed when they came out.

Veles, that should be fine to run it, they are using the UT3 engine in order for it to be playable on old specs, which is awesome imo.

The graphics definitely aren't 'bad', I just wish I chould get some AA control, I've asked a few times on here but no one answered lol

I've managed to get 3 of the landings in one game, the problem is, to get them, you have to die, which kinda seems like a bit of a backwards step to me?!

Yeah does seem a bit weird, the first time I died I thought I was restarting the mission, but after I took out a few AAs I realised the next time I died nothing had reset. I think it's a shame you can't move while iron sighting, that might only be on the 360 version though, I don't expect to actually hit anything while moving and iron sighting but it's useful when you just want to sneak round a corner while still aiming. On the 360 version the right analogue stick becomes lean.

It seems you para drop in at the last checkpoint, it just reloads it and you get to do it again, different tactics if you want I guess, thing is, you know where the bad guys will be, which was one of the things they said you wouldn't, still, all fps are like this I guess.

As for iron sighting whilst moving, it is the same with the PC, what I do is litterally pull them up to get the shot off and keep moving, it is quite a quick process.

I don't seem to ever shoot from the hip unless I'm getting over run and the thompson has run out, then the garand comes out, then pistol, back to garand and start smacking them with it lol

The level three upgrade for the Thompson though is a 50 rounf ciruclar mag, it's wicked!

Sound sweet, I was using the german bolt action rifle most of the time, think I'm gonna have to get the PC version of this, although I'll miss out on precious achievements D:

I've yet to get the german guns to level three, that is the next thing to try. Problem is,to get to level 3 in just one mission you have to use one gun pretty much exclusively, which is fine with the rifel, but when you go for the smg, you have to get in the thick of it because the accuracy at range is pantaloons.

Make it fun though ;) the Garand get a rifle grenade at level 3, i'll be intrigued as to how the MP40 goes, I got to level two which meant 64 round mag (handy or what) and the bolt action rifel (Karsk98 or something?) at level two has the strip loading magazine, I think the upgrades are limited in the demo though, there maybe more levels in the full game, I'll find out soon ;)

EDIT: after some googling, level 3 is the highest you can get for an weapon.
