that is f'ing awesome, are you gonna make the whole terminator? or just the upper half maybe? even that is a ton of work :jawdrop: it would be awesome if the head can turn side to side a little... maybe hook up a motor and have it move a little once every minute or two! that should scare the **** out of people nicely :) the sound of the motor operating would be realistic aswell :) again, this is looking f'ing awesome, f@$k yeah!!!!!

    :) hello

yes terminator will be has scale 1 (on foot as well as the arms) I consider the engine in the head, for the Web cam in the eye, I do not know yet, because “VIRUS” had it already

I have had to already begin terminator for 3 months, in this moment I am building the legs

No need to mention my opinion on the idea for this project....
But there is no way I can desregard the craftsmanship put in to it! NICE work!

i had an idea for how to control the head, maybe you like it?

the head would need to be able to pivot a little to each side, and a wheel or crank would need to be attached to the head via a shaft. This crank would need to be linked to a wheel, which is driven from a small dc motor - a small reduction gearbox would best be used to increase the torque & create a slow yet strong movement of the head. This way, a motor that spins in one direction only, provides left & right movement. It wont move to exact measurements, but that's great for a seemingly random effect, to give T2 a bit of personality!

All we need is a little circuit to drive our motor, it just has to give the motor a pulse of power for say 1 second? which we can adjust of course, trial & error will find a nice setting, and the circuit needs to give this powerpulse after a set time, say once every minute or two or whatever, adjusting the frequency of the circuit using a small pot/variable resistor would control how long each pause between movements is. First the head would move a little to the right, pause, then back again, pause, then left... etc... long motor drive times mean the head wil go middle-left-middle-right, shorter drive times can mean movements as small as 10 degrees or whatever you want!

A longer crank shortens how far left & right the head will go, same for using a smaller output wheel - less movement, and vice-versa of course. The diameter of the wheel MUST be SMALLER than the crank... i'm probably stating the obvious here :) I've given approximate dimensions with the GREY lines, of how far the head would move, using a crank length and wheel diameter ratios, as suggested in the pic.

I bet you could make this all nice and shiny to blend in with T2's mechanical body! the noise of the motor should be very cool & realistic!! CPEMMA will be able to draw up the required 555 circuit in a flash! hope youlike my idea :)

awesome. The small 555 timing circuit with a transistor to drive the motor will be cheap & easy to make, we can get cpemma to draw it up otherwise i'm gonna have to crack open a textbook :) The small gearbox with motor shoudl be available at most r/c model stores, something such as these
    i'm glad i could help! :)

edit: another thing you could do is have a switch to decide between 555-circuit-control or pc control
sooo many options for pc control, i dunno exactly how to trigger high/5v & low/0v outputs on things like usb or parrallel port but im sure many guys here know exactly how to do that! these 5v/0v outputs can be used to trigger the same transistor the 555 ciruit controls - the switch can decide wether the pc controls the transistor or the 555 circuit drives it... u know, maybe you wanna put a high torque motor in each shoulder.... and in each elbow.... solenoid for each finger.... it's alot of work but hey... that would be one hell of a result!

Anyone know why a terminator needs false teeth?

Incredible work as always, this thing scares me. Its the sort of thing I'd expect to strangle me in my bed one night during a hostile alien invasion.
