    can you put a 120gb hdd from the elite on a non elite 360?

    It's the same HDD that you can buy separately, so yes.

    hmm, so wat about buying a sata 120gb hdd and fitting it ureself? that possible?

    Don't think so. If it's possible it will be documented on www.xbox-scene.com. I can't be bothered to check though, have a look for yourself.

    Plus you have to flash your harddrive do you not? Meaning a ban if you do anything bad.

    Don't think you have to flash your hard drive, you just need to buy the same one they use in the 120Gb unit (not difficult, it's readily available if you can find out what the specific model is, I've forgotten now) and then you just need to copy the data that's on the 20Gb hard drive (emulation data, etc.) and that supposedly works fine. Or alternatively, you can buy it cheap off ebay (like here and then buy a transfer cable off the bay as well (only cost around a tenner then you can resell it).

    You do have to flash the drives BIOS

    ok thnx for all replies, ive done a bit of research and im a bit confused, some places say you can use the flash data off a 20gb model but only 20gb will be accesible ... what i dont get is people coninue to use bigger drives even though only 20gb is accesible... is there something really obvious that im missing?

    they are waiting on the bios from the larger drives becoming freely available.
