JA22Y is he maplin part code for the led's I used . The hole basically has to cut through to the slit hence why you go slightly upwards. If you get the middle sized aluminium knobs from maplins or the big ones the led's will fit , the small ones wont :)

yo Zer0 I think it wouldn't be very time and cost effective if you ordered from overseas. i'm sure there are a lot of places in the US where you can get the stuff you need. i was about to order those slitted knobs from maplins but finally found them at www.abraelectronics.com.

got my order from maplin in today and I need a little more help seems I just cant get which way to drill my holes its not making sense to me. I took some pictures of the knob and was wondering if anyone could show me exactly where to drill and where to put the LED in. from the diargram gordy put up it looks like 2 holes will need to be drilled is this correct.
Am I drilling up on an angle from the outside where the set screw is or up on an angle from the inner portion of the knob [IMG][IMG] [IMG]

can someone please help me out here or post some pics of the knob actually moded so I dont ruin a knob drilling it the wrong way
    Thanks

Okay you only need one hole , in your top picture drill from just below the outer lip , at a slightly upward angle until you break through the haluminium and the led can shine out. :)

All this is inline with the slot in the knob btw :)

There is no mesh over the biohazard grills I removed it :) I have some aluminium mesh filters over the back of the fans to stop the dust :)

Be good at cutting mate (!!) OR cut it roughly to size and then use a file to enlarge the hole to the correct size. The last ones probably safer if youre worried about just diving in - Al files real easy btw ............ ;)

Maybe someone can help me here. I've been trying to find a good way to get the wiring from the inside out to the knobs and led. I don't want to recess the knobs because my faceplate is head onto the rheobus by the nuts on the pots.
