Damn.. I take off for a week and all hell breaks loose.. kudos to Koovin and Macroman on the new rework of the PCMods Rheostats Baybus. I'm going to be mounting one of these in a Antec 1030sx case for an upcoming article and I've heard about the door problem.

Could this be a possible alternative:

Instead of resessing the complete unit inside a empty cdrom housing why didn't you just take a dremel and just shorten the knobs on the rhoestats? I figure this would have been alot quicker as a possible solution for getting the door closed. Mind you I love what you guys did and want that type of look for an upcoming project. I have some plastic 5 1/4 drive housing that I could probably use to contain the unit. What as used to secure the PCMods Rheostats unit to the cdrom housing?

4V LEDs? hmmm...that means i could swap one pcmods blue LED with two 2V LEDs in series right? just making sure cuz i plan to swap them out with ultra bright reds.

btw, does anyone know where i can get those shorter, slitted knobs here in the US?

Surley either wireing up two leds to each connection or adding a couple more in the case will do the trick :D

..........I'm not sure they are leds, usually they are more directional and the blue a bit more vibrant. Here the haze is very uniform and reminds me more of neon string/strips or a mini tube kind of colour...........?!?! God knows TBH though!!

Come on macroman - how about a clue? :)

No probs , I have started with some of the 3mm maplin blue ones as I had two lying about and I'm waiting on the haluminium knobs to arrive as the ones I have on my current bus are the small ones :)
