    Yes that is a lot of CF. Hmmm, I'm intrigued.

    @Bentleya - Thanks. I'll be fabricating small airflow pieces and aesthetic pieces from this carbon.

    @Mach - Thanks a lot. It's amazing to see that this project has inspired your first Bit-Tech post. WELCOME to the forums. Thanks again ;).

    @Badje - Hmm, $10 you say , I suppose that could get you about 1/2 a pound - haha. Thanks man.

    @The boy 4rm oz - Indeed it is, and you should be.

    @Timmy_the_tortoise - Madness and chaos my friend... with a dash of world domination.

    @Mankz - Thanks mate!

    @Caliber - Oh dear, the pressure is on. Thanks man, stay tuned.

    I got some amazingly exciting news from AquaComputer today... in the form of some one-of-a-kind PrometheusCU special edition parts :naughty:.

    Unfortunately I didn't win my Grand National auction on eBay, but I'm still in the market and there are a couple more GN auctions that have my eye ending in the next few days. For those of who who are interested, I'll keep you informed.

    I just want to take a moment to thank everyone again, it's amazing to see how well the community has accepted this project. It started as a passion and has BOOMED into something so much more - sponsors, MOTM nomination, ~400,000 image views. All I can say is WOW.

    THANKS SO MUCH EVERYONE - both posters and readers it's your support that helps drive my enthusiasm.

    The excitement has just begun, I still have many plans for this project so stay tuned for more.

    I don't have any updates for you just yet, my machinist has been swamped with something called "work"?!?

    I'm still waiting on A LOT of stuff in the mail much of which is tied up in customs... I can only assume that terrorists must use a lot of copper or some nonsense like that - why else would "fishing rod rings" need investigation. Another delay is PayPal, since I generally pay with eChecks the payments take 5-7days to clear.

    I haven't stopped thinking however, each day I come up with another addition

    I can't wait to see this one up and running..

    I mean, I still don't fully understand the concept... A router and 2 PCs in one (coppery) case? Genius..

    I have a question, is that CF; carbon fiber cloth or is it a CF plate? And where did you get it?

    @Timmy_the_tortoise - Thanks mate, I can't wait either...but I don't really have a choice. As for understanding: It's just a lot of tech crammed inside a copper case, there isn't really a whole lot else to say. The Alix board will allow WiFi connection and act as a firewall, the Pico will be a jukebox/mild file server, the main system will be for my graphics work, combined it'll just be an excuse for me to drool in public.

    @badje - It's cloth, from which I will be making plates. My Dad runs a carbon fiber manufacturing company with locations in Ontario, Vermont, California, and China. The carbon you see there is left over from a production run and it would have gone to waste... so I asked him for it. Most of it will be going towards part fabrication for my to-be-purchased Buick Grand National, some will go towards making new cases for all the AV gear in my home theater, and a small amount will go towards Prometheus in the form of mounts, brackets, aesthetics, and air flow guides.

    Hey Langer, very nice work and great planning.

    Just wondering whether you think tarnishing of the copper will be a problem, are you planning on treating or coating it with something to avoid it?

    Also I was looking at your loop design in the linked design picture, will there not be flow issues if you get unequal back pressure from the split loops - I always understood that the water would take the route of least resistence? Is there not a danger that parts of the loop (I'm guessing the part with the CPU block in it) will get very much reduced flow rates. I may be being a complete noob so please feel free to chastise my ignorance as you feel fit.

    @Xarig - Thanks. I do plan on coating the copper in some way to prevent corrosion. As for the loop issues, I had actually foreseen this potential problem from the get go. If it proves to be a big issue I have a fix planned, turning it into a traditional CPU>RAM>GFX1>GFX2>RAD>PUMP loop with little sacrifice to the tubing aesthetic. But I don't image it to be much of an issue considering the design of the interior of the junctions.

    @nikeunltd - :naughty: Thanks man!

    Can't believe I haven't posted in this log yet.

    Seriously ambitious project, I love the pico system and 7" lcd. And congrats on the AC sponsorship.

    It never occured to me that you could put more than one PC into a single case.. Great idea.. That is, if you need more than one..

    Are you gonna connect all of these up by Gbit Ethernet?

    Holy jesus! I subbed the instant I saw the design sketches, made me hope this thread had been done so I could see the final result - but this is even better! I can follow the whole production process, and to that I have to say: INCREDIBLE WORK!!

    How are you going to prevent any kinks with the hoses? What are you going to show on the 7" LCD? Fileserver/firewall/mediacenter? Or temps etc.?

    Really really love your "measure 5 times, cut once" attitude! By the way, can I apply for a "dad-sharing"? I surely could use a dad like yours, tell him I am very good at cooking ;)

    Happy modding, a hell of a good job! (Cannot emphatise this enough - my dictionary's stuck with positives, LOL)

    @jokkos - Thanks man, I'm a big fan of your Der_Meister project!

    @Timmy_the_tortoise - You can never have enough, lol. The plan is to have them all networked with cat-5, although the Pico will also be connected via USBtoSerial converter to allow modifications to the Alix's OS on it's 1GB CF card.

    @Frido - Thanks for all the kind words. Should I encounter kinks, which is unlikely, I've already purchased some 16gage uninsulated solid copper wire that I will bend into a 'spring shape' around the tubes - the tubes will also be 'sleeved' with braided copper mesh sleeving. The LCD will be run off the Pico and will display a custom built GUI mainly acting as a media jukebox. I'll also let Dad know that I've found a chef willing to work for carbon, haha. Thanks again man!

    @Timmy_the_tortoise - I'll be running pfSense on the Alix and Windows Home Server, with custom front end to make it more touch screen friendly, on the Pico.
