after installing "Black and White" on my secondary drive (D) i found that there was a segment of it that was linux, so i reformatted the disk, and so lost the game files, this wasn't a problem till i came to re-install it, and was given the option to un-install, so windows must've thought it was still on. i tried to un-install, but was given the error:
    Cannot open E.dll

i think this is part of the program, and its on the disk, so i tried moving it to where the files used to be, but still the same problem. and i've tried add/remove programs, with the same result

    running: XP Prof SP3

Do you have to uninstall before you can reinstall it? If not I'd just try reinstalling even if it thinks the files are still there.

You could try clearing it from the registry add/remove list, that may let you reinstall -
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\ SOFTWARE\ Microsoft\ Windows\ CurrentVersion\Uninstall and find/delete the key for black&white.

I can also recommend Baku to help sort out registry problems, and old/invalid entries etc ;)
