Nothing wrong with a convertible that was designed to be that way, it's when you saw the roof off a normal car that things turn nasty.

 

agreed but then again that car would be much better if it was hard top, at least that's my opinion , I don't mean to impose it on anyone

 

so why buy a nsx... horrible waste of money pick up a 180sx rhd with an sr20det in it for rwd fun lol

 

I drove one of these last weekend:


Good fun... same engine as my Bravo (albeit 114kw rather than my bravo's 110), underpinnings from a Grande Punto... wonderfully composed in all situations, and in D(ynamic) mode it's impressively precise to drive...point, push foot down.

and it's got frameless windows... how cool is THAT for a super mini?

Only drawbacks i could find were:
a) no sense of speed when driving it... corner coming up, look at the speedo - 140km/h... braaaaaake!!!! tires squeal, turn in, foot on gas...
b) there's some spots where you can see the alfa lack-of-quality... even in a brand new car.
c) no spare wheel... a tire repair kit, though... erm... *cough*... not so brilliant in a country where the next tow-in can easily be 2 hours drive away...

 

I just traded in my 1.8 Opel Astra for a 1.6 Chevrolet Aveo, and should be replacing the Captiva with a new one any day now. I'm rather surprised at how much I like the Aveo.

 

Aveo... sedan or hatch?

 

yeah if i am correct the one were getting is a 98 v6. Not to happy cause its an automatic, but meh, its a car.

 

all v6 are automatic except a few hundred special edition coupés

 

yeah i know, just miffed that its an auto, i like the extra control with a manual, but whatever...

 

We ordered a hatch, got a sedan. Meh, it's still a great town car. At least it's bloo like we wanted.

 

Mate of mine has an older model (3 years? maybe 4?) light blue metallic 1.6 Aveo... i was impressed by the interior when i first drove it...
also drove nice, even though at that time my definition of "nice" was a bit different than it is now... i drove a mk5 Golf GTI then...

nice ride, though...

 

Hmm - I must have got a duff one! Been given an Aveo Hatch while my audi gets repaired and it's just awful. Even compared ot my Mk1 Punto ('96) it feels shoddily built, badly fitted, underpowered and non of the controls give any feedback at all. No idea what engine is in it, but pulling out of the garage i honestly had to check to see whether i'd left the handbrake on! Perhaps with a bit more power it's a nicer car!

I doubt it. Top Gear certainly weren't impressed when they drove it around central London recently.

 

There's nothing wrong with the Aveo (sedan - that's all i can speak for.. .and the old one)
It's not quick, but it's solid enough through corners at speed. Feedback from the controls was OK. Interior was cheaply made, but more interesting than in the VW's of the time.

I really love 914's. Fantastic. It looks like it was a nice one.

 

It was a great 914 not like the rot boxes that are usually for sale. It was a califonia car and was imported to the UK. Im still gutted i had to sell it. Would buy it back in a heatbeat.
