i had it for a while and to be fair it wasn't too bad, once you turned UAC off. there were just too many niggles early on though and i ended up coming back to warm friendly XP. W7 just feels like a more complete product to me, which it should be since its basically vista 1.5. that .5 has made all the difference tho imo

i took the tour last night and something still has me bothered
on the start menu there isnt the lock pc button
i really dont trust my rather simple minded family with my dual 22" LCD machine
why did they make it such a pain in the @$$ to lock down your pc with 7?
on Vista one click and its asking for a password
which makes it really handy for me to lock it and run to work
then come back and finish what i started in the am

if someone can share the RC pm me please
i dont think it would be illegal to share as my pc hasnt seen 7 yet

Can you not lock it by pressing Ctrl+Alt+Del? I'm not on Windows 7 at the moment so I can't say for sure, but the option is there in Vista.

The RC/RTM versions should still be floating around on the torrents, so you can pick one from there. If not I'm sure I've got a 64-bit version of the RC burnt to a DVD lying around here somewhere if you want it (you'll need a key though, I'm not sure if Microsoft are still giving them out or not).

ooo, horrors, it's two clicks with 7, big whoop. :p just click the arrow next to the currently selected shutdown mode (which you could set to lock if you wanted), and then click lock

I've been using 7 for a few months now, and I haven't even installed my motherboard drivers yet. I'll definately think of getting it once it's released.

Why don't you turn it off when you'll be at work all day? That's a waste.

Or at least set it to hibernate. Unless you've got an oil reserve in your back garden :)

Not at all, I can't stand Windows 7! I have trouble seeing it as anything more than a service pack and a cynical marketing exercise, but there we are.
