i had it for a while and to be fair it wasn't too bad, once you turned UAC off. there were just too many niggles early on though and i ended up coming back to warm friendly XP. W7 just feels like a more complete product to me, which it should be since its basically vista 1.5. that .5 has made all the difference tho imo
i took the tour last night and something still has me bothered on the start menu there isnt the lock pc button i really dont trust my rather simple minded family with my dual 22" LCD machine why did they make it such a pain in the @$$ to lock down your pc with 7? on Vista one click and its asking for a password which makes it really handy for me to lock it and run to work then come back and finish what i started in the am if someone can share the RC pm me please i dont think it would be illegal to share as my pc hasnt seen 7 yet
Can you not lock it by pressing Ctrl+Alt+Del? I'm not on Windows 7 at the moment so I can't say for sure, but the option is there in Vista. The RC/RTM versions should still be floating around on the torrents, so you can pick one from there. If not I'm sure I've got a 64-bit version of the RC burnt to a DVD lying around here somewhere if you want it (you'll need a key though, I'm not sure if Microsoft are still giving them out or not).
ooo, horrors, it's two clicks with 7, big whoop. just click the arrow next to the currently selected shutdown mode (which you could set to lock if you wanted), and then click lock
they didnt even show that windows key + L or that they moved it to the drop down menu thanks for the info btw
I've been using 7 for a few months now, and I haven't even installed my motherboard drivers yet. I'll definately think of getting it once it's released.
not discuss Windows 7,Windows Vista series make me feel bad, only the vision and nothing is spotlight Why not choose Snow Leopard?
Not at all, I can't stand Windows 7! I have trouble seeing it as anything more than a service pack and a cynical marketing exercise, but there we are.
Uhuh.. yea, it's only a service pack.. I mean, it's not like they re-wrote the kernel or anything like that
