Sorry for my English (Google help me) Hello, as I have no where to spend money and to spend time (both lies ) Decided to start this project ... Objective: Turn a box into a kind of HTPC to put beside the TV, providing all the services of a HTPC and something else. I know that there are already HTPCs ready to use (Mini ATX, etc.). But honestly the look and size does not bother me and is not a strong point. Case: Cooler Master Silent Case SILEO 500 Brief Description of Changes: Well, the box will take on the front: an LCD Drive Bay of iMon a 20x4 LCD connected via USB to pass system information a 16x2 LCD connected via USB to pass custom informations Add a bar of LEDs (12) VU Meter style that captures the sound abiente through micro and makes the LEDs light up as the frequency (Like This, I was thinking about putting in the bay 3.5 "covered with acrylic ..) On Case side .. (I chose this Case because have a lateral "clean") I put a 250mm Fan, and i will lose the objective of protecting existing acoustic .. yes a little but there will be no problem ... At the top will also lead a Fan 120mm .. All fans will be controlled automatically by 2 temperature sensors that make them working more or less depending on the detected heat, here's the table: Will provide voltage depending on the temperature sensors I will put LEDs and buttons to indicate and control the states of LCDs Fans .. .. etc..
Some things that i prepared: My Tools: Done the hole of 250mm in Side: Time to cut 120mm from the top: Results: Time to put the crimps: I set the side fan just to see how it is, because it will take a grill between the plate and fan: Inside view: I connect the fan at 100% and there is a lot of wind inside the box. You can see here the VÍDEO
I cut and stuck a front bay to put an LCD and its LEDs (like the microphone for LEDBar): Invention to put all the buttons that I need on / off fans, LEDs, cold cathodes, etc. ... cut a bit of acrylic and will stay with the stand offs behind the Case ... The Top is ready .. 50/50cm acrylic, will be to put on the side.. let's see how it is.. The cold cathodes ...
I cut the side lacked to put the acrylic behind: The perforated plate to put in front of the 250mm Fan: The plate is very thick but is not impossible: here already sanded and painted with primer: Cover with LCD 16x2 plus 3 LEDs and a microphone (for LEDBar): The front cover with small acrylic for the LEDBar: The pcb I am doing to add all the connections of my electric circuits..
Tchan Ran... the iMon arrived to my hands (with some difficult): Done the perforated plate: Lot of wires to get ...: After storage: Digital thermometer to measure temperature: I made this hole in the other side to fit the thermometer Screws to the box: Panel with Buttons finished: Platform to handle the LedBar: start to engraving in the acrylic: Result:
Interesting project bud, coming along well but thats a LOT of switches, what will they all be doing?!
Yes, lot of them.. the purpose it is for turn On or OFF every Fans..Leds..etc. immediately General explanation:
Hi again, I mounted a AMD2600+ just to see how it is ..: This here is a light sensor... I put two blue LEDs at the bottom of the case and only light when it is dark (and when the button is ON): They are 2 LEDs below the box .. but here you just can see one:
The whole point of the sileo is that it is closed and very silent, but besides that it is a nice looking case. It looks interesting. I am going to keep watching this one.
