hi guys, ive got my 4890 on ebay so when it sells, should i buy my 5870 right away or hang on for a VAPOR-X version ( if there is one ) or if theres a factory overclocked card, do any of you think any of these cards will appear thanks take care all
Of course. Vapor-X is sapphires top end Whatsitmajig. It or something of similar brilliance will be out... It might be a while though... Like a month???
thanks for replying m8 i think i can wait a month lol, what about a factory overclocked version, being sapphire, as my 4890 is there oc version thanks again take care
The Vapour-X versions, and indeed all factory overclocked cards, are overpriced IMO. If you can wait a month and don't mind the noise of the fan, I'd suggest just buying one of the cheaper reference cards and overclocking it yourself (if you really need to that is - I'm sure it's fast enough at stock clock speeds).
5870 vapor x spotted cheers smc, but after the 4890 causing havock with my ears, if the vapor x is quieter then ill get it lol my m8 found these http://www.techpowerup.com/104447/Sapphire_HD_5870_Vapor-X_Spotted.html take care all p.s, a m8 told me theres a competition on bit-tech to win a vapor x 5870 ;o)
I purchased the Sapphire 5870 over the weekend and must say that in my opinion I haven't noticed the fan very much. Even when playing Crysis Warhead.
I got a 2GB 4890 Vapor-X and I will keep it at least for another year or so till it makes sense to get a 5870 Vapor-X. At the moment all 5xxx are in my eyes overpriced and if you do not make use of DX 11 I personally would wait till they come to a sensible price and more games actually making use of it (also I am not a gamer but like the idea of using the GPU when rendering a Video on the new 5xxx). Well thats my two cents anyway.
cheers guys for the reply,s so the 5870 isn't as loud as the 4890 then, if not then i might just get a bog standerd one thanks again take care
mm i like my vapor X, was the cheapest for me actually... its also nice and quiet (all the way up to around 50% fan the other fans in the system are louder), and keeps the thing nice and cool.
