Golden Axe. Lord of the Rings: Return of the King has been described as a modern day Golden Axe in one of the reviews but having played it I still longed for Golden Axe. Perhaps it's better left as a memory rather than trying to recreate it.

So I'm reading this thread and I see a lot of Freelancer being tossed around, and while that was a decent game, I'd rather have what inspired it be remade/sequeled properly: Privateer (not the second one though).

Also to toss onto this list, yet another vote for the Homeworld games, some new X-Wing/TIE-Fighter games. Hell, gimme a new System Shock! And if the new MechWarrior game falls apart, how about EarthSiege instead?

Gotta toss out some love for the Dungeon Keeper games too.

I think I'm gonna stop now before I get lost in nostalgia. :D

P.S. Oh yah, GIMME MORE PLANESCAPE PC GAMES!

    +1 for Planescape.

Not sure i'd want to see another Dungeon Keeper. While the first 2 were great games, i'm just not sure if the memory is better (like it would inevitably be if DNF wasn't canned.)

    YES!

Also might I add, Age Of Empires 2? I wouldn't mind AOE2 with a 500pop cap and a new engine.

    oh hell yeah !!

    hold[L1+L2+R1+R2],U,D,L,R,R,L,D,U

    invincibility + infinite ammo :D

U,L,R would throw an iceball , U,U,R was a jump (i think). The gameplay of this game was way more awesome than most of the people thought. Once you got to know it, the possibilities for fun were endless

Freelancer was really great, but I'd rather see the vapourware that is the new Elite, turn up at some point.

X-Wing vs Tie Fighter though is an absolute must!!!

There's tons of potential for game to use the vehicles and weapon systems from the prequel trilogy as well as the classics. The story options are huge and the multiplayer possibilities just blow your mind. I remember X-Wing Alliance vaguely where you could co-op in the Falcon and that was pretty cool, but this was back in the days of the Pentium III. Something really should be done about that. The market is pretty much guaranteed.

There is one that is supposedly not just me wishing, but should be real at some point - Starcraft II. I still play the original. The story was excellent, Brood War was excellent and the way the multiplayer worked just added. But the focus on single player was really well done. Looking forward to that at some point.

Twisted Metal for the WIN! I haven't seen anymore kinds of these games so far.
And don't forget Contra. Who wouldn't love to play this game again.
Just do the Konami code and whoala! You already have 30 lives! :D

For me they are soon to release the one game I wanted re-making. The original Perfect Dark is currently in production, albeit for the X-Box 360 via market place.
I can't wait for this to be released. Hopefully it will be out in time for crimbo.

I'd still love for there to be a re-release of Golden-eye. I know there is the Source version, it's pretty good, shame no one plays it.

As for Elite, this was the first game that I played over and over and over. It must still be up there as one of my most played games. Christian Pindar reverse engineered the game and released a free PC version called 'Elite - The New Kind'. I have it and play it from time to time, it's still a great game. The file size is something like 450k - lol.
