Very nice work! The powdercoating came out amazingly well. Sorry to hear about the problems with the watercooling. Will you leave it on air now?

You have a GF9300-D-E right? Mine stopped POSTing after a few weeks too.

Good luck getting an RMA. I moved out of the US so I'm royally screwed.

Yeh its running on air now.

THankyou, my photography has come on miles during this project!

It seems to be working now on air. I have located the faulty part as the GPU, so that needs to be checked on my friends pc and if its gone wrong, i will send it off to sapphire.

At the moment your bulid is at my top 3 mods list :thumb:
It may take the first place when it is all finished with the watercooling.
Keep the good work up for this one and all the future builds!

Really nice looking mod, similar to something I plan to do in the near future (currently about to start design work).

Just wondering how much of a difference does a small watercooling loop make to temperatures over air cooling, and also does it change the noise levels etc.

Thanks guys :) I try to keep my worklogs nice and organized bagman!

Bufo, definately quieter like this, temperatures at idle only dropped about ~5-8c from the stock cooler, but under load it is around 15-20 celcius lower

Nice to know that it is still effective even in such an enclosed space, currently playing with sketchup and some parts from the components collection to work out possible ways of arranging things and comparing itx and m-atx. Especially when using a large graphics card the size difference often seems to be quite small and not necessarily worth it, though the layout you have used works perfectly with a card the same length as the itx board.

On your sketchup models you have the apogee drive combined pump/waterblock but so far I haven't been able to find the exact dimensions or any models of it. Could you possibly give some rough measurements so I can make a reasonably accurate sketchup model, as it seems the best piece of watercooling kit to use in a small case.

Hopefully will be able to mod/make a case after A-level exams are finished this summer and so have both no lessons and still access to the school DT department, with laser cutter, cnc machines etc.

Not trying to insult, but would this actually be smaller than my SG05 with corsiar H50 ? I mean the thread title mentions smallest and most powerful, but i'm running an oc'd i5 750, and will soon have a 5850 in it too....

    If im not mistaken, the sg05 is 22.2cm x 17.6cm x 27.6cm = 10.78L

    And this is 20cm x 20cm x 18cm = 7.2L

so this is smaller than your box yes. but yours is more powerful. What Mobo you have in that sg05?

The motherboard i'm using is the DFI LANPARTY MI P55-T36

I'm quite impressed with it, and it would go well in this guy's case I'd think. The chipset it uses has a tdp of just 4.7W, the only drawback to it is that it's vrms can only handle up to around 125W output, but if you get an i5 750 that's not a problem.

You can leave voltages stock and increase bclk to 160, and have 3.36ghz @ 1.18v when loading 3-4 cores and 3.84ghz @ 1.26v when loading 1-2 cores, and the idle cores will be power gated, so max power consumption would be about 113W. This is my setup atm, just need to get some heatsinks for those vrms.

I don't think I could go for a case smaller than this one, It's complicated trying to get the videocard to fit. I have my old 4870 in it atm, and that's the same size as the 5850. I have to flatten the power cables against the front panel of the case.

Excuse the cables, I hadn't restrained them at that point :D
