I've been hunting for some screws/bolts for a while. Cheapest price I've found is $7.00/each. Any chance anyone else has a resource that can beat that?

Aluminum screws are a really bad idea. Why not use black oxide steel screws?

Especially if you are going to use them in an aluminum case. When aluminum rubs against aluminum it galls. this can jam the screw into the hole so badly that you will never get it out.

Just a heads up. If they work for you awesome.

We get almost everything like this locally, but if we're stuck for something we use Pro Bolt. Best range you'll probably ever see!

I agree with nlancaster, in fact I didn't even know you could get alu bolts.
Just your ordinary black steel bolts are what you are after, and they should
be a few cents each. ;)

Anodised Alu bolts are usually used on motorbikes , they carry a hefty premuim over steel ones.

Black steel ones are very cheap on ebay, thats where i get mine.

Thanks for the responses. Pro Bolt definitely has the cheapest prices I've seen (I've been quoted as much as $18.00 per bolt).

I'm going to take my chances with aluminum. As for the price difference... well, I guess I'm giving myself a very high budget for this case.

Seriously, black oxide steel is a much better idea. Far stronger and less likely to mangle the thead and will look the almost identical anyhow.

My Anodized Aluminum bolts arrived and.... yup, they look almost exactly like the Black Oxide Steel ones that I have seen online - good thing I only ordered 5.

Thanks for the suggestion. Looks like I'll be going with Black Oxide Steel - with a savings of ~$1.25 a bolt.

Yeah, when you're going with black, the steel ones are a good idea because they are strong and cheap, and readily available. When you need different colours though, you have to go with aluminium or titanium ones like those on pro bolt.
